I don´t remember if it was in a British car magazine or Top Gear´s test,
but I red this test concerning the V-Power gasoline. They had a Golf
GTI which used regular 95 octane petrol and when tested with the
V-Power, results showed increase of 5 horsepowers ...

Does the members here use V-Power as their car´s petrol or 98 octane ?

I used VP two months before I took Bravo to dyno test. Perhaps it helped
to gain couple of extra horses ... who knows ;)

Have to dig it out somewhere ... :D

The second run was with the Sport button on, giving 182 Hp and
282 Nm. Think I had in my Bravo originally almost 160 Hp, because
an other Bravo here were tested before dyno and it gave approx
160 Hp factory ready.

Noticed allso that you have discussed VP many times before, but
perhaps a new point of view concerning the VP and custom made
exhausts, is fun to discuss.

I've heard of Mjets having more power than stated, but never knew it's also the case with Tjets. This is news, or your dyno results were incorrect (I hope it's the first one).

When you say 182bhp, your Tjet is remapped, right?

^ There is the answer ;)

I don´ think the result is wrong. 22 extra Hp and 30 Nm can be
possible according to Martelius. Also used VP- petrol.

No remapping, just the pulses and flows correct.

I have run normal 95 and v-power for longer periods ... first 95 for half a year then v-power for half then 95 and now still vpower.... I am definately NOT convinced that I suddently have had 22 hp and 30 Nm extra.... more like max half of that... but hey maybe it would be better to have it on a dyno to be exact.

You must have done something else to it as well ... no?

He put a full exhaust on mate (y)

Turbo cars really benefit from a great exhaust

Ahh... sorry didnt notice that :D - makes more sence then - still the numbers are huge for exhaust + vpower.... no remap - no induction ?

Exactly, shows how restrictive the standard one is

Ideal would be exhaust + induction then remap = POWERRRRR :D

There's also a world of difference between a sport exhaust and a good sport exhaust ;)

I've used V-Power before and I can't say it was faster but it seemed to rev more 'freely' if you know what I mean

I think my Bravo had originally almost 160 Hp ... A Fiat member in Finland
dynotested his before remapping and had the 160 original.

So then a GOOD ;) exhaust with pulses on flows correct, mine gave the
182 Hp and 284 Nm. Soon after me, again another finnish Fiat member had
his done in Martelius ( 2 x 1 oval outlett ), but gained 171 Hp and 275 Nm.

Same job, different car.

Believing with this paggage, using Vp, can give some extra horses and
torque.

how did you get dual twin tailpipes on your Bravo?

I was told this couldn't be done, because of the spare "wheel" well being in the way of the right hand side... AND... more importantly... theres a fuel pump hose right next to where the right hand side exhaust box would sit... VERY dodgy.

Good question mate !

I try to explain. There´s only one roster silencer, located as the original.
From that, there goes two exhaust pipes. One coming out from the
original place and the other mirror wise as we know.

The other exhaust pipe comes first also straight out, but goes then to
the right, UNDER THE BACK BUMBER, all the way to the new outlett
made by Martelius.

This is checked and noticed by them as the best and safest way to do.
Have the original exhaust left for the " car checking" in 2011. They did
however concentrate more for the power side, than the noise coming
out ...

Hope this explains something ;)

It explains a lot.

I have a custom exhaust system on my Bravo, and I asked for it to be exactly like yours but they said they didn't see that it would be possible without removing the spare wheel well. Guess they never thought of taking it round the front of it though :p

Oh well, I'm fairly happy with my single twin tailpipe :) Sounds meaty enough.

Not to be a pain in the ass or anything, but could you possible video what your car sounds like when you give it a good rev?

I only have the 1.4 active, non turbo, but to say it is slow would be a lie... it matches 1.8 diesel turbo's... so i'm happy enough.

Sort of considering turboing it myself in a while, but I don't think its worth the money. Probably be easier to just do a trade, but I'd like to keep my baby for a good while! Only 3800 miles! Plus, if you do it yourself I imagine you could squeeze a fairly big turbo in.

Good to hear that you are happy with your car and there´s allways a
chance to tune it up, as you said :)

As for the video, it has to wait ( I don´t have one :D ), but this sounds
allmost like stock ... until the revs go up to 3000 ! Then comes the fine
low, deep baritone kind of woooosh - sound .... !

As I also said before, they did concentrate to the power and torque
more than to the sounds. Martelius himself told me, that my Bravo
is even more silent than he expected.

Well ... it´s the results that counts (y)
