hi there - writing from melbourne, australia. have had my maranello red ritmo t-jet sport for a few months now and love it..
previously had a heavily modified 2.5T Subaru forester, running 240kw at the wheels on a 4wheel dyno.
funnily enough the ritmo doesn't feel gutless to me and i love driving it..
have had no problems except for gear shift boot not fitting properly and a strange clicking sound you can feel through clutch pedal and steering wheel when you turn the steering wheel on low speed.
haven't taken it in for first service yet for full diagnosis, wonder if anyone else has had this ?
i am quite impressed with the overall quality and particularly the performance, amazing out of miniature turbo technology and small capacity motor.
one thing i find very annoying is the radio, it always comes on when you turn the car on !

Welcome to FiatForum, nice to see another Aussie member. (y)

RE: The radio, have you tried turning off the radio when the car is running and seeing if it will automatically come on when restarting?

Troy.

gdday mate (Ritmo Man),

And a jolly congrats to you... it IS a fantastic achievement the little 1.4TJ.

Regarding your clicking sound when turning wheel at low speeds....

I have had a "thud thud thud..." sound when manouvering around parking lots. Especially when car is "cold".

Took it to service and they suspect that the top of the dampers needs greasing up. The top has a rubber ball shaped thingy that turns as the damper/wheel turns and this thingy rubs inside a metal "bowl" and probably makes the knocking sound as the wheel is being turned... I am having it lubricated in a couple of weeks - ill get back with result.

Cheers

Hey RitmoMan,

Im from melbourne also!

Have a techno grey Ritmo Tjet Sport, have fitted a ragazzon aftermarket pipe. (sounds great!)

Would love some pics!

Glad to see ur enjoying ur ritmo loving mine also... great cars!

1.4tjet such a great motor I was also coming from a more powerful car (Alfa GTV 3.0 with some mods at approx 175-180kw) and the tjet still feels quite nimble in comparison, obviously not as fast.

Cool, was the aftermarket pipe pricey ?

All up including delivery and installation I spent just over 1,200 AUS.

Worth it IMHO.

Sounds great and gives a tiny bit of a performance.

Link below isa video I uploaded showing a before and after comparison.

Where abouts in Melb are u from???

Hey Ritmo man,
i am from melbourne also, got my ritmo last year as my first car and absolutely love it. I haven't experienced any steering issues yet. I love the acceleration of the car.

Have you done any mods to the car yet?

I spoke to a mechanic at lance dicson and he recomemded a power boost valve (you can buy them from autobarn) but i have not installed one yet.

Also power chip believe they can get a 25% increase in power from the engine but that is costly at $1500.

I am conviced you will not notice any significant power increases from an intake system or exhaust system..

do you have any suggestions?

I don't get out as much as I used to, but still got my Ritmo... and still on the Gold Coast.
