Hi,

last year in february, I bought a FIAT Bravo. I was statisfied with the car and sadly enough, I crashed my bravo on the way home.

the car started to slip on the road in a small curve. When it first started to slip, I was surprised and I don't know exactly what I did at that moment, but suddenly I totally lost control of the car. It started to turn around several times before hitting a lighting pole (don't know if that's the exact translation). After the hit, the car made a salto and I landed on my right side.

I could get out of the car thanks to my panoramic roof. The glass of the panoramic roof was totally broken, so I could escape from the roof. Lucky me, otherwise, there was no way to get out of the car...

My bravo is totally wrecked now, and the only thing that statisfied me is the safety of the Bravo:

- I didn't have one injury
- The exterior of the car is totally wrecked, but strange enough, the interior of the car was still perfectly intact
- all my airbags came out and saved my life, of course the belt also did a good job ;)

I think my accident has proven that you bravo-owners can be assured that your Bravo is VERY safe if you ever got the bad luck to be involved in an accident.

To show you people the severity of the accident, I posted some pictures of my car. Today, I went to pick up my stuff that has been left in the car...

The police, doctors, everyone told me it was a miracle that I didn't have an injury, or even that I'm still alive. Yesterday, some women also hit a loghting pole on the road and she died... It makes people think about life...

OMG

Thank God you're ok!! Cars can be replaced (however painful), you cannot. Looks like you had a Sport model (?) with ESP and all the gubbins, but the car began to slip in a bend? Wonder if that was effective.

Anyway, good news on the safety front, hope you have a new order in!

Sorry to hear about your Bravo. By the way, has the Bravo been declared a total loss....that way, you insurance will pay out to you and you can buy a new Bravo again.

Good Luck.

Thanks again for the pictures.

Thanks for the pictures mate,WOW! and just to say glad your ok my friend,
has it put you off the Bravo or will you be replacing her.

Very best regards Kelvin w

Nice one...this may sound sick, but I'm always impressed at crash damaged cars...not in a perverse way just amazed at how bad a car can be and the passenger(s) still make it out ok. Glad to hear you are fine, and very pleased to see that the car has taken a severe pounding and you have still managed to get out unscathed - makes me feel happy that I drive one.

this model didn't have ESP, it was a racing model :) En it's possible that I wouldn't have crashed with ESP, but I started to panic a bit and lost control of the car, I don't know whether ESP would have help me in that situation... I also forgot to mention that it just rained down there.

I think it's important that people acutally know that our car is really safety and that all those prejudices are wrong. I was very, very statisfied with my Bravo.

The Bravo's nose is pretty big and we can't see the nose of the car while driving, which can be pretty annoying when parking. But the big front took the whole impact of the crash so I could survive it.

My father told me I never should buy a FIAT again, because the accident has prooven that the car is really weak because the car's totally loss... it was unbelievable he said that. I think that not one car would have survived the crash and maybe in anoher smaller car, I would have died. (n)

I guess the fog lights are not still in pretty good shape :(
I'm looking for ones.

Thank God you are safe.

What was you speed ?

OMG MATE!!! That's really serious crash! You're really lucky to get out from that uninjured!!! What are you planning to do with it now mate?

Ps. Maybe it will sound bad but that's what i think - Your dad is wrong - You can tell him that it's not cars fault but the drivers - and because that it was a Bravo - he can still talk to you. If that would be any smaller one - the only place he might see you again would be graveyard.

indeed, it's the driver's fault, it's that simple. Maybe I should ask him whether he wants me to drive another car, do the same crash over again and see what will happen with me

i dont know yet what i should do... it depends on the money i can get from the insurance. I only want a car that looks good, a car that's special, not like an everyday grey golf or polo. There are millions of them. thats why I'm maybe thinking of a alfa because of its looks, a red one... but i also like the honda civic, or perhaps the same bravo...?

Maybe a Bravo again, you're assured of its safety, the 147's is not as good :(
