Anyone experienced this?

im approaching 5k miles and every so often, even when not asking for lots of power, i get clutch slip, a massive amount of it when pulling off after changing into second.

Flick it into third, back to normal.

Im thinking its a sticking clutch cable- def feels like this, however i think the clutch is hydraulic isnt? which can only mean Dealer time methinks.

anyone had this?

Also, i noticed free wheeling in any gear, the gearbox is silent, but 2nd is starting to whine when not under load. Anyone elses like this?

ok, its been back and there was a tinge of clutch in the car but not slipped badly for them (as in shooting up to 6000rpm), it was showing signs of slip mid range in second and third, however once warm, this stopped all together

the dealer told me to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse bring it back. i did the right thing taking it to them now as they can say to warranty people that the fault was reported at 5k miles and within 1st 12 months

Are you saying they noted the fault but aren't repairing it or it did the usual fault on car trick and disappeared at the dealers?

fault didnt show up on test, although there was slight slip on it. The did look at the linkage for the clutch under the bonnet though.

what they said is if it gets worse it was reported early on. touch wood, been ok since

slipping clutches usually happen for a reason and not one that goes away by itself unless, maybe, there was oil on the clutch in which case where did it come from?
