Sorry for my abrupt why?, didn't mean to appear rude.
Maybe abarth badges for those with sport models. I had the Abarth stilo and couldn;t for the life of me work out why it was called an abarth. Abarths of old were sporting models. The only thing that would get near that would be the gp essesse when it makes it.
May sound silly but when someone asks you if it's an abarth and you own a mjet it kind of defeats the object (remaps aside before we start moaning)

To me it really doesnt make sence either... i could in a moment of temporary insanity be tempted but again... why? :D

Heres a guy from my home country called Allan Willy Nielsen who took his GP and "pimped" it to be a replica AP ...

good job i must say - but hey ... its still a standard GP underneath.

I must say - to make up for it... he bought the real deal :D

.. i should add... the reason was that a danish off fiat importer got it by mistake since Abarth still doesnt come to DK  ...and Allan bought it ...

i just wish they make a Abarth Bravo and import it so i can buy it :D:D:D

cheers

For me sticking an Abarth badge on is like a BMW owner sticking an M badge on a 318i ..... PANTS (n)

That's the dumbest thing I read on this forum so far.

The M division of BMW makes very special cars that have completely different bodykits, suspensions, engines, brakes, exhaust, interiors sometimes even a completely different chassis than the normal BMW.

While all abarth does, is an engine remap, remove the city button and slap 50 abarth badges on the car.

so you're completely wrong, there's nothing wrong with putting an abarth badge when you have a remaped fiat, that's exactly what an abarth is.

Yeah, only that Abarth has never touched your car. So it's still very lame.

Plus, you are wrong with what you said about what's changed by Abarth.

Let's see the Fiat 500 Abarth:

The turbocharged 1.4-litre 16 valve T-Jet produces 135bhp, while most of the mechanicals on the car have been uprated: a roll bar at the rear, stiffer springs and dampers, Brembo disc brakes all round (ventilated at the front), ride height lowered by around 15mm and bigger, stickier rubber on either funky 16- or 17-inch rims.

Then there’s the new boggle-eyed front which houses the intercoolers and radiator, and of course, looks uncannily like the Abarth 695 racer of the 1960s, while there are deeper side skirts, a large rear spoiler that gives the 500 a shape to press it to the road, and a new rear bumper with two very menancing pipes and rather redundant-looking diffuser.

And the list goes on...

Looks to me like they pretty much changed everything that can be changed...

Tad.

Your attitude stinks.

FYI Abarth was a full tuning company started decades ago tuning suspension, engines, bodyshapes. The latest Abarths are also tuned in the suspension, engine and bodywork.

Anyway, why make do with M or Abarth badges?

The thing is that their grande punto abarth can easily be surpassed by tunning a grande punto yourself.

It's like what MG used to do to rovers.

lyubohar, you got a point with the 500 only because the 500 has weak engines and didn't have a sport model in the first place, so it's very easy for abarth to improve on it.
