Bravo Remap Questions/Answers

Have you had any issues from a fiat dealer regarding the remap and voiding warrenty etc?

I had it done by O2 from France, probably not available in the UK but the remap is really a mater of who does the settings not the brand. Anywhere you go, they should ask you what you want, faster throttle/turbo response? better top speed? better fuel economy? etc...

My remap made my car accelerate faster, I still have some of the annoying turbo lag, but a lot less than before. My top speed didn't vary much but I can't be sure of that as I never went top speed either before or after the remap, I don't want to go more than 120mph with the way this car handles.

My 0 to 60 time is around 6 seconds now, though the main problem is the gearbox that wasn't designed for such acceleration.

My torque is so high now, that I can easily make my wheels spin even with ASR on... I never had my wheels spin before... (dry tarmac)

The guy who did my remap thought I had a 150hp engine, it still works great though I'm going in for a free tune up when I have time to try and make the remap fit my 5 speed gearbox.

Your car's still new, I'd wait a little bit before remapping it if I were you, my remap was done at 8000 miles right after the first service (first 6000 miles oil and filters change)

You should wait for the simple reason that if something's wrong with your engine, you have to give it time to show, if something breaks after the remap, they might discover the remap when plugging the diagnostic computer and void your warranty.

As for me, I don't care about the warranty.

Re: Bravo Remap Questions/Answers

I'll see what I can do, though I think with accurate measuring, it'll be much more than 6.

also, my engine is a turbo charged 1.9l diesel, which has a lot of potential for torque and acceleration when remapped. what is your engine?

Re: Bravo Remap Questions/Answers

I've seen your youtube vid though the 0to60 is not available anymore... the power you got is very similar to mine now, but I guess you'll wait to see it for yourself.
I also got a slightly better fuel economy now.

Re: Brvao Remap Questions/Answers

Is the 120 the 8 valve? What BHP figures/torque are you achieving at present?

Re: Brvao Remap Questions/Answers

Thanks for the thread reply, yeah i think i will wait for now before i get anything done - I love the Bravo but disappointed that my previous '03' Renault Megane 1.9 DCI 120 (not modified) felt so much torquier and faster than the Bravo. Certianly enough to push you into your seat as this one is a gradual less dromatic and slower acceleration.

I'd love to see some videos too if you get chance.

Re: Brvao Remap Questions/Answers

Just went out for a drive now to record a 0 to 62 acceleration.

obviously not the perfect conditions since the engine wasn't fully warm and tires were cold. managed to do it in 8 seconds on one single try.

I'd love to show you but the 3gp video won't play on my computer, it reads only the first two seconds as you can see on this youtube link :

I could easily manage less than that if I tried.

yeah guess I exaggerated a little bit
it's more like between 7 and 8 seconds...

I wonder why the video plays on my phone and not on the computer...

I used a stop-watch to evaluate your time and it's 7.3 seconds.
It's a very good time nonetheless and you beat me by more than a second.
