Silly PC

Got to a roundabout blocked off by the police and so I stopped to enquire which route I should take..

The officer, obviously straight from a public relations course immediatly notified me that I had a defective foglamp.

I've heard this one before so I chuckle and say, "No they're fine"

"You have a defective foglamp" says he.

"Ummm no I dont' I say.

"It's not very foggy is it?" says the PC.

I'm about to agree, and say it's a little misty when my dad pipes up that they're turning lights. He looks blankly while another PC has wandered to the front of the car. I'm stopped on a roundabout so on right lock - I spin the wheel left and right to flash the turning lights. The policeman nods to the one at my window and he wanders off.

Hope he feels a plonker.

Now, what's the bet if I'd turned the fogs on to prove they were ok - I'd get a fine for using foglights when it's not foggy?

Yes the new bravo has turning lights. When main beams are on and you turn left your left turning light comes on. This is either the left fog light or another light next to it I can't remember. Same goes for right too.

They're really useful. Really light up the corners at junctions and the like.

Re: Silly PC

hmmmm i can see the point now. how much of a dead zone do you get - ie do they kick in changing lanes on a motorway. Wonder how long the bulbs last being cycled like that.

Re: Silly PC

Bravo only does the foglights, as does the UK spec Skoda. The moving headlamps are a mainland surope thing.

Nothing actually moves on the Bravo. Turn right, right foglight goes on (if your dipped beam is on) and turn left the left foglight comes on. If you engage reverse it doesn't work. The lights don't turn

Re: Silly PC

My 207 has turning lights, but it doesn't use the fog lights, it has separate globes inside the headlights.
