| Swapping 17" for 18" alloys So collected the Bravo (150 TJET Sport) yesterday. All well except that it came with the standard 17" wheels rather than the 18"s I had chosen (and paid for). The dealer tells me they will supply and fit the 18" asap. My question is: can this be done by a way of a simple swap, or is there more involved? Further views on the car to follow.

| Re: Swapping 17" for 18" alloys
Why I don't know though Especially when it is so easy for the boy racers to go from 14" steel wheels to 18" aftermarkets wheels on there Corsa's etc without much hassleI find it strange that Fiat make the Bravo in a way that it is such a change and hassle to go from their 17"'s to 18"'s. I think the main problem is the difference in width of tyre on the 18's from the 17's means the 18's rub on the arches designed to take 17's.

| hot hot tamale! | Re: Swapping 17" for 18" alloys ne1l... go wash your mouth out for comparing Bravos to Corsas ![]() The dealer should change the rack parts (or whatever it is) when they fit the 18s. Check with them that they have.

| Re: Swapping 17" for 18" alloys ![]() What I was trying to conclude was that Boy Racers could stick bling bling alloy wheels on there *cough* Corsa's and jump like 5 sizes (14" to 18") without much hassle or problems. What I can't understand is why Fiat design the Bravo to be so difficult to do the same thing. Particularly when only going up one size (17" to 18") especially when it's with their own wheels

| Re: Swapping 17" for 18" alloys I have swapped my 17s for 19s with no problems, the only thing I did, after fitting, was to get the tracking checked and adjusted. It needed changing as the 19s put it 2mm out all round. No other changes are necessary

| Re: Swapping 17" for 18" alloys Sorry Tad-Bravo, if you make a statement like that could you expain your reasons please. For information they fit nicely, the 35s came with the wheel package! The drive is not as harsh as you might think, however new 225/40/19s are being delivered tomorrow and will be fitted within the next couple of weeks. I have tried 225/45/19s but they looked ridiculous

| Re: Swapping 17" for 18" alloys 1. a lot less ride comfort 2. too easy to damage the rims 3. rims bend overtime while driving normally 4. rims bend heavily on the slightest impact (pothole, excessive speed bump) 5. more tire noise at high speed 6. higher fuel consumption, and slower acceleration 7. inaccurate board computer I've had my share of experience with low profile tires, they're a nightmare. | |||
