bravo with gt 1446

hi to everyone of you!I'm from Greece and pardon me for my writing.Got to tell this is a great and usefull site.I'm a proud owner of a 2007 bravo t-jet 1.4 150hp and there is my question..I ve read that the new 500 asseto corse will pull 200hp just with a bigger turbo, the garrett gt 1446.I wonder if i can ''run'' this mod to my bravo as i'looking for more power.Do you know if it needs new pistons or not?Thank you for your interesting!!

Re: bravo with gt 1446

Hi, a warm welcome from Bournemouth, England.
I dont have an answer for your question, sorry, however, according to some tuner in UK, a remap alone will increase your tjet from 150 to around 185-190BHP, not bad for £300pounds.

Hi, yes im sure an uprated turbo for the T-Jet engine can be done, it is possible for the engine to have the SS turbo fitted. (As far as i am aware)

Re: bravo with gt 1446

Yiassou Bravopow ke kalo meenas,

Welcome to the FF.

I don't think you could just bolt on the new turbo, the GP Abarth with the Garrett GT 1446 also has: new water and oil pipes to the turbo, new exhaust manifold, heat shield, injector rail, MAP sensor, boost sensor, modified catalytic converter, larger diameter exhaust, wastegate valve, and new engine ECU.

Much less expensive to go for the remap as STILO NEWBIE suggests.

Dave.

SS is essens-whatever turbo. (GP)

Also a re-map wont increase your power much, unless its a bigger turbo as the turbo's on the T-Jet can only take a certain power....

Re: bravo with gt 1446

SS or esse-esse in italian, means super sport
A re-map WILL increase your power but there is a limit due to the small turbo.
the limit is around 180hp but i wouldn't recommend it.
170hp would be just fine and with no problems i believe.
Greece is a pretty warm country and that's not good for the turbine.

if you look at abarth ss kit you will see garrett gt1446, there is no new manifold. i think gt1446 fit t-jet oem manifold. you need that turbo and remap

Re: bravo with gt 1446

A big hello to everyone of you there guys and thank you for your interesting!!i suppose that since mama fiat can promise 200BHP to 500 asseto corse with only peripheral mods such as Davren very correctly mentioned then i can tell that i'd be very sure for my engine's life by ''running'' this modification.i don't wanna believe that fiat ''gives'' the 500 with engine problems at the price of 49.000 euro.the gt 1446 is not on the officially catalog of garrett, although there are many models from this company which can supply my engine with the right ammound of pressure. And to answer to ftskamins fears about the recomended limit i can tell you that fiat of singapure launch the fiat bravo veloce 185 which is the t-jet engine with upgraded air filter, exhaust and reprogrammed.and it's under company insurances!thank you one more time for your helpfull opinions!

Re: bravo with gt 1446

here you can see a process of mounting of essesse kit.

Unfortunatelly there is new manifold as I an see and injectors. Manifold, well OK, cause Gt1446 may not fit on standard (for tjet 150 and GPA) but injectors? I's interesting because there is a company scorpiotuning which is working together with g-tech gmbh and they tune GPAs and GPAs SS.

Here you can find what you need to get power and torque you desire

the veloce185 is only remapped from 150; no upgraded air filter and exhaust.
