hill holder - have I got it question

I know this is a strange question. I have a 1.9 multijet 150 dynamic which I assumed didn't have hill holder option and hadn't given it a 2nd thought.
Today my engine wouldn't start (my own fault as tried starting engine from cold as soon as I turned the key. A few warning messages came up on the screen including hill holder.
Is there any way of ascertaining if it has ESR/hill holder (other than parking on a hill and seeing if it does).

if car has VDC its got HH.......i'm 99% certain yours has.

Well, according to Fiat, who kindly serviced her today, I have got it

& therefore VDC

Still don't understand what that is or what it does, could you expand and help an old dimwit?

makes hillstarts as easy as if you're on level ground.... ie if you sit there in 1st with the clutch in on a hill you shouldn't roll backwards... takes a while to get used to, and then a while to not get used to if you have a car without it, as I hav done.

when you release brake pedal (obviously with clutch pedal depressed) the cars on a hill for 3-4 seconds.
