Angry Doors Deadlock

Hi Fiat Community,

I'm the proud owner of a Bravo 150 mjet since March 1st.
I'm very happy with this car, really !

I only have one frustration with it : door deadlock (also called safelock) is not enabled. Meaning that even if i "double click" the key one can open the door using the inside handle.

After googleing a while it appears that bravos sold in the UK have this functionality enabled. Can someone confirm this ?
Is it possible for me to get to my Fiat dealer to have him enable this functionality ?

Thanks for your help,
Greeting from France

You will find that even with deadlocks on you can still open the door with the handle inside because of the safety factor, I don't think you can have the deadlocks on to stop you getting out, is this what you mean or are you talking about another function of the deadlocks ?

I was wrong check my last message, sorry.

My GPS locks me in when deadlocked, until I unlock it. Thats all Deadlocks are for, to stop a door being opened even if a window is smashed, maybe your dont have them either

to use the deadlock don't you press once to lock and then twice more for the deadlock? Are you pressing it twice after locking the car?

Just 2 presses - as you would double click your computer mouse to open a file. Think the presses need to be just under a second between. You'll know you've done it when you get the second 'clunk' and the lights flash 4 times.

Re: Doors Deadlock

Hi everybody !

Thank you for your replies ! My Bravo is a 150 mJet Sport, like your blueBravo.... So it should have it, i'm fearing this feture is country dependent.
I know how to handle the deadlock, i had it on my Stilo and loved the fact to leave the car in the yard with windows 1inch opened to let the heat go out.
Can't do that with the bravo and it really pisses me off.

I will try to go to my dealer next week, maybe it is just a software option. I hope i do not have to change the bolts.

Or maybe i have to train how to double click on my remote the bravo way

Re: Doors Deadlock

I just rechecked...

Single Click
Lights flash 1 time and the car locks

Double Click
Lights flash 1 time the car locks and after the first "clunk" i hear a "click" like the bolts trying to lock again..... But i guess this normal, it is just responding to the second press on the lock button....

True, I am from Czech Republic and all new Bravos being on market here aren't equipped with the deadlock. I experienced exactly the same you are doing now, I was clicking like a hell but I couldn't get it to work. So I claimed my dealer but he shed the light the deadlock is dependent on country where Bravo is to sold. I am not sure there is a chance to enable this feature by a software adjustment . If so, let me know here and I will hammer my dealer .

I am short on time this week, but by the middle of the next week i might have the opportunity to go to my dealer to ask if it is just a software option. Maybe you could go to your dealer to see if both dealers claim the same

Re: Doors Deadlock

Ok i'll let you know what my french dealer says.

I just subscribed to a German forum (i live near germany) because it seems that deadlock is also available there... I'm still waiting for an answer to my question.
I think i'll try a German dealer to !
