Cool New Bravo owner

Hey guys and girls, a new fiat bravo owner here from Casablanca, Morocco.

It's a 1.9l 120 multijet with aboslutely all the extras based on the dynamic version.

some of the features : ESP, dualzone automatic AC, Glass Sunroof, parking sensor, cruise control, uprated hifi system, Xenon headlights, 17" wheels, tinted windows, chrome kit, blue&me...

I really love it but I have a question about the stereo, does it have pre-outs (audio outputs) for adding aftermarket amps?

Power will be boosted soon thanks to a dual stage remap (to around 150hp), glad I got the 1.9 instead of the new 1.6, it has more potential for extra power

Comments and advice always welcome !

Re: New Bravo owner

Welcome to the club!

And no idea about the pre-outs, but an answer I would also like to know as I am SERIOUSLY missing the bass from a sub!

However I have been led to believe that there isnt a pre-out, and that messing with the stereo may invalidate your warranty anyway!

Re: New Bravo owner

Doesn't the uprated stereo come with a sub anyway? im sure i read a review a while back commenting on the excellent upgraded stereo with extra bass....

Re: New Bravo owner

yes it comes with a sub, but it's very weak in my standards.

I'm used to a stereo about 10 times more powerful.

Re: New Bravo owner

Ask your dealer to pop the head unit out for you. Should take them 2 minutes.

Re: New Bravo owner

nah that wouldnt work cause an aftermarket sub needs an amplifier, as well as the connections being all wrong probably!

Okay...who's gonna be first to pop into their dealer and ask them to check the stereo for a pre-out? lol

Re: New Bravo owner

the standard sub is amped, but you'll still need a more powerful amp to power a decent sub.

I'll be changing the front speakers + amp and remove the standard sub and put a real one with its own amp too.

if the standard stereo doesn't have preamps, I'll have to buy a little adaptor that turns speakers signal into amp inputs.

my brother went through the same trouble with his grande punto sport...

Re: New Bravo owner

so is it not possible to simply disconnect the existing amp and sub and replace them with your aftermrket gear using the existing wiring? Effectivly just swapping them over

Re: New Bravo owner

no because I don't think the original amp is somewhere you can reach.
besides, you still need to install a real amp wiring kit for the remote lead and power.

I'll check if the standard amp is easy to remove and if it has the necessary wires going ino it, this information is just what my brother told me.

Lmao no foolin you... I saw someone (was it ChrisUK?) said they handle like a Stilo? I know they are on the same basic platform but surely that is not the case since the basic platform has been tweaked?
