GloveBox light not switching off

Has anyone else have this happening to them, it looks as though the door is not fitting correctly on the glovebox compartment and doesn't close tight enough to push back the arm that trips the light off.
Tried to take the fitment out but as soon as i heard it starting to crack i stopped, what made me laugh was i called my fiat dealer and told him the situation he said just push the screwdriver in further then it will come out of the fitment, i said to him and if it snaps in the process,he replied £15+vat sir i said to him its under warranty, yes but of course if i snap it then its my fault, i told him thats why i don't want to do it, so my reply was you could book it in, i said to him i want the light off "now" though.
Oh well think i will have to devise something myself.

Re: GloveBox light not switching off

Just want to check to see if anyone else has checked out to see if there glove compartment light is still staying on when the compartment door is closed, mine is going in next week to be checked, and have a new electric window motor module put into the passanger side door as it has checked out to be faulty

Re: GloveBox light not switching off

Yeah, it is a known issue, in my country (Czech Republic) at least. This hitch has been discussed in our native forums a lot. It looks as certain batches of Bravos didn't have properly mounted the glovebox light. In other words, we have identified the problem lies in the plastic rod, which should be pressed down and thus switch the light off when closing the compartment cover. Certain adjustments of the rod did the trick and solved it.

regards,
pegas
