1.9 Bravo Active

Hi, I usually post on the Grande Punto forum, but have just sold the car and am considering one of the above.
I realize its now discontinued in its 105 (?) hp trim but there are quite a few pre-regs about.
My main question concerns the driveability of the car.
The 1.4 8v Active Sport was underpowered but smooth.
I'm looking for more mid-range umph but not at the expense of buzzing dashboards, throbbing gear stick or general diesel hum through every part of the cabin.
I've tried all my local dealers in the Liverpool area and none of them have either a demo car or a s/h one to try in that spec. I realize that a 1.9 150 aint going to go like a 105!
Comments on that particular model would be much appreciated
TIA
Fred

Re: 1.9 Bravo Active

I am satisfied with my 1.9 mjet 120 bhp and 255 N/m
Low fuel consumption and there's enough power for a 1340 kg car
Indeed there's noise because it's a diesel but the torque is awesome!

Here they don't sale the 1.6 diesels...
I guess the 1.6 has smaller taxes because it's a euro 5.

If you would go for the petrol I guess 1.4 Tjet 120 it's enough.

Re: 1.9 Bravo Active

The 120 Dynamic sold me the Bravo. Perfectly usable. Pulled onto the dual carriageway on my test drive and by the time I got into 6th I was doing 90 so had to ease off

The car doesn't rattle and shake because it's a diesel. Fiat diesels haven't done this since they went JTD - even the TDs before were only noisey on a cold morning. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool, or a ford fanboy.

Got to agree! I test drove a 1.9 M-Jet Dynamic and was thoroughly impressed with how quiet it was, how smooth the drive was and how much "oomph" it had!

the only thing that stopped me going diesel was the chance to have a bit more fun in a petrol 150 Sport!

Re: 1.9 Bravo Active

I've had a 120M-Jet for about 4weeks now. Very pleased with it and, quite honestly, prefer it to the Golf, Altea, Astra and Avensis hire/pool cars I have also driven recently. Got mine when ~6months old with about 30% depreciation.
