Bravo parts availability

Driving to Angelsey last friday night, we got hit by a large stone, which cracked the windscreen

Called Autoglass on the sunday when we got home, they ordered a new windscreen. Now 6 days later there is still no sign of it. Now luckily despite the crack doubling in size (its about 12" long now), it is still ok to drive but it is a bit worrying the time it is taking Fiat to supply a new one. Added to this we waited 3 weeks for a window seal for the passenger window. Now I always drive Italian cars (Ive got a 156 GTA) and the parts are never quick, but I thought ona new model which isnt selling out they would have been much better

Has anyone else had to wait for parts?

PS Still an excellent car though

Re: Bravo parts availability

Autoglass don't use genuine manufacturer screens, so it maybe their supplier isn't up to speed yet with the new model.

I've had varying waits for parts - the bits for my armrest came in in about 4 days, but I ordered a touch up pen about 4 weeks ago and still not arrived - when I asked at the dealers, they mentioned they had aother touch up pen on order for over 3 months and still not arrived!!! (BTW I gave up and had some paint mixed at Halfords - and the match is fine)

I had to have autoglass change the screen on my Mondeo in Feb , just before I picked up the Bravo - they gave me their story about how they are the only replacement screen fitter who use screens to 'manufacturers specifications'.

When fitted, it was clearly a different screen to the original ford one, different patterns in the sunshading, the heating elements were in a different configuartion (I do miss the heated front screen - such a marvellous invention!) and the manufacturers mark was the dead giveaway.

Wherever the screen is from, I just hope they leave your car in a better state than they did mine!

How did you get it matched? How much did it cost? What did you apply the paint with? I have quite a few stone chips in mine

I got it matched by simply using the colour code. This is on a silver sticker under the bonnet. I bought the 100ml pot, which was £8.99. The match didn't look great until I applied the lacquer (about another £4.00 for a touch up pen) at which point the match did look good. Don't apply it with the brush in the pot, get a very fine brush (from a model shop or something) and use that...

Lots of stone chips - yeah, me too, the paint seems quite soft on these new Bravo's...

Or you're following more cars closely.... waiting for that overtaking oportunity....

Probably more to do with the shape than the paint being soft, the Coupe is well known for being a stone chip magnet.

Re: Bravo parts availability

They are getting the screen from Fiat, so at least it should be original. They used the dreaded "back order from Fiat" phrase, but it is due on wednesday

Re: Bravo parts availability

UPDATE: Autoglass have now said Fiat cant supply a new screen until....................the end of MAY!!!

What a farce, Ive been onto Fiat UK who have said they will look into it but because the screen hasnt been ordered by an authorised dealership then they might not be able to help.

Re: Bravo parts availability

Update 2..............It seems I was misled on what autoglass meant by "dealer", they infact meant glass dealer not Fiat dealer. Fiat reckon 3 weeks. Time for a snotty call to the insurance company methinks, see if they can authorise Autoglass ordering from a FIAT dealer!!
