Stereo Problem

Noticed that on cold days, after heavy rain or after washing, the stereo on the Bravo does something weird.

Its like as if the radio is recieving a really poor signal. In order to hear the radio the stero has to be turned up to volume 30+.

It sounds as if its playing in mono and coming from the front speakers and is very very tinny.

It stays like this for a short time (10mins), then all of a sudden Boom ..normal service is resumed and as the stereo volume is a 30+ a new pair of pants are required.

CD player and B&me works fine just the radio, I thought it may have been the aereial but the dealer cant find a fault and were unable to recreate.

Any suggestions or experiance??

The aerial is on the back of the car though....

Have you tried hosing the car down to replicate rain conditions?

Re: Stereo Problem

I experienced this problem with my bravo today. Radio working fine, stopped the car to nip into a shop, and on re-starting, very quiet radio. The media player volume was just fine.

Tried retuning etc, no improvement, so gave up and listened to the media player for a bit. Periodically checking back, there seemed to be no improvement unitl after about 10 mins, when normal volume was restored.

Dry and sunny this morning (although it was coldish) and the car is kept in a garage - so different experience to Blebo. Did you ever get to the bottom of this Blebo, or has the porblem gone away?

Re: Stereo Problem

I've had the same fault and found turning off the ignition and restarting cured it. Only happened twice so far though.

I have spliced a 12v off the ignition for my bluetooth kit, perhaps this is having an effect?

Re: Stereo Problem

Re: Stereo Problem

I've had an issue before - perhaps these radios aren't upto scratch?

Yeah mine just goes really loud sometimes for no reason. Can give a bit of a shoc when it's down low then jumps up loud for no reason.

Re: Stereo Problem

Travel info kicking in? I know sometimes mine picks up the travel info channel and knocks up the volume before dropping back down when it realises it's not a full broadcast.

Not had chance to try my MP3 issue and the "Loop off" command cause I've lost my data stick
