Average MPG

Hi Again

Does other members average MPG rise in increments of 3 tenths or just mine, in the Stilo it was in 1 tenth i.e. 38.1 38.2 etc: but in the Bravo 35.4 35,7 etc150 JTD Multijet

Bit sad really monitoring that closely but if I’m truthful a bit disappointed with the consumption around 35 in heavy town use, mine you only covered 5000 miles so far, so barely run in (still tight)

Regards Kelvin w

Re: Average MPG

I havent really checked. The only way to check accurately though is to brim it, reset trip and then brim it again next time, work out the mpg from the litres put in vs miles. Ours is averaging late forties, and on my way to work the other day (18 miles, mix of driving) I got an average of 56 according to the computer (though was trying!)

Re: Average MPG

Hi,

I'm about to buy bravo someday and trying to decide (1.4 16V (90 HP) or 1.9 Multijet Diesel)). But I read some test and it seems average fuel consumption is very high on both engines. 1.4 16V has 8.7 Litres/ 100 km. And diesel has 7.8 L / 100 km. I wanted to ask you guys driving it. On my Tipo 1.4 ie I have 7.5 L /100km. If I buy Bravo with greater consumption then my old tipo with the same engine volume, it just doesn't make sence

Thanks

Re: Average MPG

7.5L/100km = 37mpg?

Bravo 150 multijet is more like 6.2/100km.

Where you get your figures from? I mean 36mpg from a diesel?

Re: Average MPG

Thanks, and the gasoline version 1.4 16V ?

I had a hunch, that multijet dieslel engines have low consuption. I don't know where those testers got their results of so high consuption

That is why I'm asking you guys from first hand

Here is the conversion table:

The last new car I had was a 2002 VW Golf GTTDI 130 . The economy (calculated full tank to full tank) got much better after the 1st 10,000 miles.
I look forward to finding the same when I get my new SPORT 150 JTDm.
For reference the Golf started out in the low 40,s mpg and finished in the high 50,s. This with mixed driving 20 miles to work and 20 miles back.
