Re: Remap on T-Jet 150?!?

I was not making any allogations, merely saying that a companys own rolling road could be doctored to show higher gains than there are. Coupled with calibration etc etc will always be off. Therefore trusting a graph given by a company that has mapped your car is no more proof than trusting a company without.

At least thats the way I see it. The real proof would be for someone to have a map done (By one of many companys) and take it to a third party static rolling road. This way you know what you see is what you get (give or take a few).

Oh and my mind is not corrupted thankyou, im not a 17 year old that buys into the mystique. Ive seen rolling roads give false readings both by lies and mistakes in the past. As such im just passing on my past experiences to the rest of the board! If this hurts your sales pitch then sorry but I dont see how my remarks would, as I did not direct any allogations at you!

We see all the time here that fiat didnt do this and fiat service lied about this etc etc but we still buy the cars as thats just one persons experience. If anything it makes us more aware of the potential to get done and we can try to avoid it happening to us!

But what if the car is RR'd - then the mods done - then the car RR'd afterwards.

Even if the RR has been 'doctored' as you put it, the gains can still be seen.

Also, GSR and Red Dot are two different businesses

Re: Remap on T-Jet 150?!?

I never said there would be no gains did I?

I sure as hell never pointed any fingers at anyone!!!

At the end of the day <<< hate that phrase, its down to personal choice. You pays your money ya takes your chances. Just sharing my experiences thats all, as I feel it would be too easy for a mapping company to falsify its readings (potentially) to show a little more than is there.

so it seems fiat have pushed it close to the limit with the stock map.

Looks like it. We had the T-Jet back on Saturday with a peak power of 144bhp, which was with re-map and induction (139bhp standard) and got immediately 163bhp with the same re-map but the the Abarth turbo.

Re: Remap on T-Jet 150?!?

I'm thinking about having my MJ 150 remapped. What are the benefits, how much does it cost, what is the likely hood of it all going wrong? Anyone know anywhere good go in the Essex region?
