Cool Former Stilo drivers?

Hello,
I just wonder how many of you guys new Bravo drivers are former Stilo owners? What are the improved things compared to the Stilo and/or what options do you miss at the Bravo?
Ciao, R.

I saw one the other day... while driving mine. Stared at if for a few seconds thinking "Wow... nice wheels... it's... a bravo!" Then felt a bit daft for not having recognised it.

I think no matter what is said about the Bravo. It's deffinetly Italian. I couldn't bring myself to buy a Stilo because it looks too much like a mish mash of Golf and Focus and Astra and....

Re: Former Stilo drivers?

Well after having three previous Stilos (1 x 5dr 2x Multiwagons) my thoughts are the Bravo is a much better built, better looking and developed model. The handling is very much better, a lot more accurate and leans less. The body shell feels much more rigid with better damping, the steering has more feel, though it is a bit light, and I'm still not convinced by electric power steering but it is better.

Interior quality is vastly better and with a few select options is on a par with Stilo equipment levels and Blue&Me is great. I personally prefer the styling of the Bravo, the 5dr Stilo hatch always looked old, even at launch. I have now been stopped and asked about my Bravo a few times, that never happen in a Stilo even when it was new! 5 star Euro NCAP is welcome too especially when carrying the kids. The Stilo does have more rear room and better rear visibility and of course no estate yet! The window line also does make the back a bit dark and gloomy, kids don't see as much either.

So to conclude I did enjoy the Stilo and the last models are very much better than the earlier ones, but the Bravo in my opinion is the better car.

Re: Former Stilo drivers?

Well I agree with jymmyl,
I have had the Bravo for only 2 weeks now. All in all almost everything is better on the Bravo, but some things were better on the Stilo though. Some are details and some are more serious:

Dipped headligts (dipped beams):
The most annoying thing are the dipped headligts. They are not bad, but were much better on the Stilo.

Driver seat:
I can not find a good position in the seat, but the Stilo seat wasn't much better in that matter. The difference is that in the Bravo the seatback is good, but the seat itself could be better, it is to short for me.

And some minor details:

Bonnet:
The Stilo has a "gas-shockabsorber"? for holding the bonnet, the Bravo has turned back to the traditional steel-bar.

Interior light:
In the Stilo You could turn on all the interior lights by pushing one button before the mirror in the ceiling. Haven't found that in the Bravo.

Sunglass holder:
The Stilo had a nice sunglass holder before the mirror in the ceiling, this is not in the Bravo.

Mudguards:
I have only these behind the rearweels, the dealer told me that FIAT didn't make them for the frontweels on the Bravo. I can see on this forum that others have the same issue.

Re: Former Stilo drivers?

That's what I've gone for... Don't know the Stilo, but the sunroof on the Bravo has two glass panels, one over the front sets (that opens) and a fixed one over the rear seats.

A bit, but I don't miss the roller blind catching at the back, or the wind noise when the roofs closed and the blind open.

Re: Former Stilo drivers?

Being a big fan of the Bravo and having driven afew different derivertives, I must admit the Stilo has a few practial extras the Bravo doesn't.
The bonnet has gone from being on struts to a conventional stay and it's also fiddlier to open.
The rear seats in the Stilo had the sliding base and made the boot larger without having to fold the seats down. The roller blind was also another usefull feature
The boot on the Stilo seemed bigger and the loading cill a bit lower.
It also takes alot longer to get comfotable and my right foot aches after a couple hours of driving, in the Stilo I could get instantly comfortable and feel fresh after a good 3-4 hours of driving.

I know the above sounds like I've got a bit of downer on the Bravo, I haven't as I wouldn't have bought one. The Stilo I had must have been one of those cars which was very well put together and was a pleaseure to own without giving a moments trouble.
I know FIAT have made a very good car in the Bravo, better built than the Stilo and more refined but I still think some of the features of the Stilo could have been carried over or even improved upon.
