Re: Bravo Sporting?

Yes I must say the 1.8-T seems unlikely certainly in this time period. Went to fiat the other day and the guy said they have heard nothing on such a model and he's more like a friend known him for years so I don't think he'd keep it from us.

As for a 2.0 16v apologies if this does become reality, but seems so unlikely when the 1.9 multijet is already in the range? Just makes no sense. Especially with weight and pricing options.

We shall see, but it is looking ever more unlikely. And have to agree with comments above.

The t-jet and existing engines have such great potential anyway, especially with the gains that can be achieved through mapping a turbo engine. Peter from GSR says over 200bhp should be well in scope for the 1.4 T-jet 150.

That would make for a damn fun car.

But it was Scrogg that said so wasn't it? (he works for em) He said this info was released to the dealer network and 'signed off' for the UK market.

If you read the comment by scrogg he quotes the dealer was only told yesterday so your friend won't of known. The 1.9multijet is quite an old unit really so maybe it has had an overhaul.

Re: Bravo Sporting?

If that is the case I see where its coming from now.

It was a misunderstanding by me. I was under the misaprehension that it would be released alongside the existing 1.9 unit. A new unit would make complete sense I guess as long as it is more powerful and doesn't demolish that advantage with a poorer power to weight ratio over the existing 1.9 litre unit.

As long as the 1.9 is discontinued.

He may not keep it from you, but clearly his Sales Manger has kept it from him, as he/she was told at exactly the same meeting (albeit in a different location) that I was.

Re: Bravo Sporting?

Won't a 2.0 16v diesel with extra bhp/torque make an abarth version of the Bravo pretty much a no-go? Especially if Lancia are wanting to make a return to the UK and other markets with the new Delta which is a bravo is a different frock.

I mean who will want to spend an extra 4/5 grand on an Abarth/Delta with around 180bhp when for 16k you will be able to get a 165bhp multijet which will be mappable to 200+ and cost less to run.

Err he is the sales manager! lol.

Only reason I say 'why' is he is very informative to us about upcoming stuff usually.

I am not someone to talk rubbish just because I feel like it. Whatever i'm sure time will tell won't it! I sure hope they do release a 1.8 GT.

Talking Re: Bravo Sporting?

There is certainly a 1.8 T-Jet in existance...

Alfa and Lancia shall be using it... so I can't see why Fiat cannot for their Abarth Bravo...

As for spec's - the 1.8 is going to be 200bhp in the Delta and 230bhp in Alfa's... Namely a Mito GTA at 230bhp for instance...

However where would you put an Abarth Bravo with that engine? Its a tip toeing process around other brands always with the Fiat Group... Never VW Group with Seat ; VW and Skoda however...

The 2.0 M-Jet has no such GM Block... it is an FPT designed engine... Perhaps the 2.0 will be a replacement for the 1.9 in the Bravo... as quite rightly said the 1.9 M-Jet is old now..
and the 2.0 is reportedly to have 20% more torque... YUMMY

Maybe the Abarth will have the 1.9 Twinstage 190BHP M-Jet engine?? Now that would separate it from the sister brands?!

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES NOW... Such superb engine range.. 1.4 T-JET 180BHP ; 1.8 T-JET 200bhp -230BHP or 1.9 M-JET 190BHP...

Anyhow... theres been no rumouring of an Abarth Bravo on Italiaspeed... the fountain all that is truthful in the Italian Car world..

So where has this come from?? Please dont say oh a mate down the pub knows Sergio Marchimone and he said.... blah

Re: Bravo Sporting?

Personally I think a bravo GT would be better than a Bravo abarth, just sounds a bit boy racer for the size of the car etc but suppose there is the focus st amongst others. Think a bravo abarth would have to look subtle but have a uprated handling package, brakes etc. Hopefully thats maybe what the GT will have.
Must admit I was thinking of changing my GPS to a bravo but may just hang on to see if a new 2.0 m-jet comes out.
Personally I'd like the 1.6 120hp m-jet in sport guise.

Cheap tax, insurance and economy but then could be remapped maybe. To be honest I wouldn't buy it because it costs nearly as much as the 150 T-jet and little less than the 150 m-jet

1.6 120bhp isn't cheap tax. Only the 105 with the eco pack is.
