(T) Engine oil consumption

Just to inform you that having 9.200 km mileage on 1.4 16V engine and I had to add 0.5 liter of Selenia engine oil to get the maximum oil level. Can you share your experience?

That's not excessive oil consumption...perfectly OK.

Mine goes though about 50 litres per 500 miles

The official Fiat limit is 1 litre per 1,000 miles (1,600km), so 0.5l in roughly over half the mileage is well below 'excessive'.

Remember it's still 'bedding-in', so a little consumption is to be expected.

According to the manual,the official Fiat limit is 4oo gr per 1000km.The say the oil consumption will be normalized after 5-6oookm.

I`ve just covered 7000 miles and not used a drop of oil - thinking of getting an oil change done soon though, even if supposed to be ok untill 12000m

Service intervals are 18,000 miles or 2 years.

(unless your annual mileage is below 10,000- where it's an oil change every year.)
