Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

Just about to order my new Bravo this afternoon, and the only option I'm unsure about are the Xenons! Are they worht the £600?

Are they an option now ?, they were not even in the options available when i got my one, although that was in October, As to are they worth the extra £600 only you can decide whether you warrant spending that amount on different lights, yes they are brighter but that is still a lot of money extra, the lights that are already on the Bravo are good enough in my opinion, but its your desicion and your money so only you should decide.

Re: Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

I didn't think the standard lights were bad, but they weren't great, so I've just fitted Phillips Blue Vision bulbs. About 40 quid for the main and dipped beam and I find a massive difference. I'd go that route rather than pay 600 for Xenons.

Re: Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

standard practice with me, the last 5 cars I have owned (all fiat) have all had the bulbs changed at the 1st instance. The Blues seem to give a further 15-20 feet of light and this is really helpful living in the sticks.

Re: Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

Weren't on the options when I ordered mine 2 weeks ago (still not on the fiat website).

They are excellent (I have them on my Mondeo), but pricey. Please do not fit aftermarket HID's, they are illegal primarily because OEM HID's have automatic range adjustment - this is why they are expensive - without this you will occasionally dazzle oncoming drivers - HID's are 300% brighter (even than standard main beam) - an accident waiting to happen if not installed correctly.

Would I pay £600 for them? Seems a bit pricey as the going rate these days seems around £500 for OEM HID's

I've always taken the opinion that Xenons is a cost you'll never reclaim when you come to sell the car so it's dead money, and the lights on the Bravo (as bluebravo says) are pretty fantastic. Polyelliptical headlights look cool .

As said it's dead money once it's spent. Resale value will not change, just make it a little more desirable if there are 2 next to each other.

Normal Bravo headlights are pretty good tho, can't compare them to the Xenons tho as I've never seen them yet.

Re: Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

Thanks for the advice guys. I eventually decided to go with them so I've orderd it with the Xenons. It's just the 2 month wait now until I get my hands on it!

Re: Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

As they weren't available when I ordered mine, I'm looking to upgrade the headlight bulbs - I've heard great things about Osram Night breakers - can anyone advise what fitting the dips, main & fogs are so that I can get some on order?

Cheers,

Rich

Re: Just ordering new Bravo.. Are Xenon's worth it?

Apparently they are available, it's just most fiat dealers don't know about it and the brochure / website doesn't show them. My dealer phoned fiat UK just to check as he was 'sure they aren't available', then I got a rather sheepish phone call!

If you want them you'll probably have to push the point, unless you have an enlightened dealer like spike192! (or Hartwell Fiat, Abingdon now! lol)
