Would you recommend a new Bravo

Thinking about buying a new car again. Bravo is one of the cars on my list to look at. Would either buy a T-Jet or M-Jet Sporting, probaly 18" alloys, leather, although that doesn't appear available with flat red which is my fav colour for a car, sky roof etc.

I looked at one a few months back and thought the interior was a little fussy.

So anyway, for the owners that have bought them would you recommend one, which engine and what little annoying things have you found since pruchasing?

Happy new year first of all,
Well i personally would recommend the new Bravo, i have the 1.4 t-jet 150 sport, and have to say i am more than pleased with it, the acceleration is fantastic when you need it, the only thing i will say is if you go for the t-jet you do need to use it more than just driving around town otherwise you will see the needle go down before your eyes.
It all depends on the length of driving you do with the t-jet, multijet is probably better on mpg, so it really is down to which version you prefer.
The only annoying thing i find is when i find out i will let you know lol.

Re: Would you recommend a new Bravo

Yes I'd whole heartedly reccomend a Bravo.

Seems strange that you can't get the leather on a tango red car.

I think you will find the car is very alfa-esk with its controls and displays all directed towards the driver. Perhaps it looks fussy at first glance but once you spend an amount of time in the car it soon all makes sence.

little annoying things? The biggest gripe I have with my car is the drivers arm rest - or lack of. Will be doing the 'dynamic' mod in the very near future. Other than that i've a little mp3 player problem which will shortly be cured.

The 1.9 multijet is pretty damn awesome compared to the 130 5-pot i had in the marea. Very refined and loads of pull, has opened up overtaking places I wouldn't have tried before. The combination of 5th and 4th being lower due to the 6-speed box probably helps there on the 60 roads. Not driven the t-jet but I assume it's quite a lot of fun with the fizzing little 1.4.

Buying recomendations I'd suggest electic rear windows (required with leather) otherwise your back seat passengers will complain... why i dunno since they dont use them given it's got AC. I'd also suggest the dual-zone climate and perhaps even the parking sensors. getting between cars isn't a problem but little bollards soon vanish beneath the rear window then you're guessing how far you have until bump. Touch wood I've not hit anything yet.

Re: Would you recommend a new Bravo

Yes, without a doubt. I went for the M-Jet as I prefer the diesel torque with less gear changing! Which is not a problem as the Bravo has a very sweet change. Having been involved with and owning Fiats since birth, I can honestly say the Bravo is in a different league to most other models (though the Panda is very good).

I thought the 18" wheels made the ride a bit crashy and I think the dark 17's look better with my Techno Grey. The leather is very good and you do get the centre arm rest and rear electrics. Dual zone is a must as it look great and will help when you come to sell it (just like leather).

Rear parking sensors help as rear visibility is not great. Auto lights and wipers are handy but not a must. Blue&me is great so no need for MP3 CD (just plug your memory stick in)

Great to drive and wonderful to look at... go on get one

So how would you (in relation to league) differentiate between the Bravo and Grande Punto. After driving both, and opting for the latter, I wouldn't mind hearing some additional thoughts on general comparisons such as performance, ride quality, style.

Re: Would you recommend a new Bravo

My sister owns a GP and the interior feels pretty low rent. The Bravo looks very nice inside, I think I was put off by the multicolour seats, I reckon with the leather that's sort it. Time to book a test drive in both M-Jet and T-Jet. Esp interested now they're offering 5 year warranty and interest free credit.

Thumbs up Re: Would you recommend a new Bravo

Most definatley.
Depending on your preference, i'd go for the torquey diesel. It's a decent engine, refined and good on fuel (If thats what your after).
The car we have at work is an M-jet on the standard 17's a with Skyroof, rear elec windows, climate and parking sensors.

I have the leather in mine and it does make a big difference...

I don't know, apart from price, why you wouldn't go for the 150 MJet 16v. Brilliant quiet, economical engine and 'easily' the fastest Bravo.

Great news for potential buyers regarding the warranty...but I think the interest free credit will be 3 years.

Nah they did a "limited offer" 5yrs 0% a.p.r but I think theres a 15-20% deposit required . Quite alot of money to put down .

Yeah as Hellcat about the diesel he has the 150 Mjet Dynamic and loves it .

Re: Would you recommend a new Bravo

Its worth having a look at the t-jet as well, i don't know whether it was just the one particular multijet Bravo i had as a courtesy car a few weeks back, but i have to say without upsetting anyone, it was noisier compared to the t-jet, but as i did say, the t-jet it does drink a bit more than the multijet.
But either one its a brilliant car

Noisier until 1200rpm....

Some like the engine noise, some dont. Mine is for day to day driving and long runs so having a quiet, ecconomical yet fast car was a must. I've the Tipo if I want to have more fun at the expence of my ear drums and wallet

Yes im starting to feel the same. Thinking about getting rid of my Petrol Punto which I use for everything, managed a whopping 32mpg on my last run whoohooo , getting a sensible diesel to travel to work and back in and get something mad for the weekends like a Coupe 20vT or PuntoGT(getting a bit hard to find now)

Yeah leather would be essential from what I've seen of the interior. I'm not a big fan of Diesels despite owning one, would rather have a petrol but the 1.4 engine seems a little small, would like to see a 1.6T or something like that.

What is wrong with 3 years credit, I wouldn't want car credit for any longer, tend to change cars every 2 - 3 years. I wonder if it's possible to get the 0% credit, decent PX and a healthy £2k discount?

Dont dismiss the 1.4 on its engine size, its more than capable i'd even go to say its fast. I was used to my Alfa 2.0Ts when I drove a Bravo 150tjet and I was astonished how quick it was.

as for discount wishful thinking helps

Re: Would you recommend a new Bravo

I suppose the early Alfa 2.0TS engines only had 155bhp with the torque and power coming fairly high up the rev counter so a small turbo engine with 150bhp on tap is bound to feel quite quick even if the performance isn't mind shattering.
