Radio trick

Did you know that...

If you press 1 and 6 at the same time and hold for a while, hardware and software versions will show on the display, followeb by its serial and manufacture date? FF button scrolls through the entries.

HU reverts to its previous state after several seconds.

Pressing 2 and 6 also invokes a test, not sure what it does - checksum, short circuit and something else is displayed.

3 and 6 is a speaker test. FF button cycles throught the speakers

The tests are available even if CAN is disconnected.

Are right, i thought thats what you probably meant but just wanted to make sure just incase there was something different on your audio unit.

Re: Radio trick

Hi all

Just for interest I tried this radio trick and found out I have Hardware version 1.0 and software version 2.11.

In the name of geekdom I wonder what versions other people have got?

By the way BEWARE of the speaker test as they emit low tones and ear splitting high frequency tones and there's no way to turn it down. I'm still slightly deaf in my right ear from this morning when I tried it. (should be ok eventually)

Cheers

Jonno1

Thats strange, it acts just like the Visteon units in the Stilo, even down to the fact that the test menus are exactly the same (pressing 3 and 6 to get to the speaker test, then pressing 1 to 6 will bring up different tests as with the Stilo). However, when you go through the HW and SW version menu, it does indeed say Pioneer.

The only conclusion I can make is that it is Visteon manufactured using a Pioneer audio chip.

And yes, same HW and SW versions - manufacture date of 19/06/2007.
