Angry Re: Aircon close vent problem

any new bravo owners encounter the aircon prob??? by default, when we switch on the aircon, it will be in AQS mode.. however, if you choose to manually closed the aircon vent (meaning internal circulation mode), the vent still open on its own??? this bloody damn thing happens like 3-4x a day! damn irritating!
even if you drive without switching ON the aircon, the bloody vent still open??? strange huh???

so far, 4 new bravo owners in Singapore are having the above problem.. was wondering if overseas ppls have similar experience?

Re: Aircon close vent problem

Hi,

I have the same problem. And according to the manual, the system will automatically switch on the outside vent for a minute even we have turned on the internal circulation only. The loan Stilo has the same problem as well.

Any trick to force internal circulation all the way? Can we re-program the air-condition unit?

I hate opening the outside vent in city driving. All the exhaust fumes will come in and stink up the car.

On ones with climate cntrl, if you press the AUTO button it should make it go into full auto mode, and the words AQS should show up on the display readout of the climate cntrl, that way any fumes detected should put it into recirculation mode and keep the fumes out for 15 mins, then changes back to normal circulation to get rid of the build up of stale air inside the car, and so on.
Not sure about the setup on the normal air condition unit though.

Ok, I will try it with Full Auto for a while.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: Aircon close vent problem

Its programmed for a reason and hence there is no way to defeat the feature at all.

Most modern cars with fully automatic climate control aircon has this feature.

So far so good on the full auto setting.
My old Alfa 147 had the dual climate control aircon but I was able to keep the vent close all the time i.e. internal circulation only.

I was going to say, I'm sure this is a design feature to "refresh" the air inside the cabin, to avoid condensation and smells. I'm sure the vent opening by itself isn't causing you any problems.
