| blessed are the apostates | Re: Bravo 105JTD GT alarm problem so it appears to be working ok, but the siren makes no noise. the siren is located in the front left wheel arch, if i remember correctly it is part of the alarm control unit so if it is faulty it may not be possible or easy to replace without replacing the whole alarm control unit. | ||

| Re: Bravo 105JTD GT alarm problem All i can suggest is the alarm is set up for another country. Theres a trick you can do by pressing the bonnet alarm switch x amount of times to find out the country its set at. Seeing as yours is a GT its an import or Euro spec so more than likely why its not beeping. I doubt its a fault. Does the alarm siren go off when the alarm is triggered?

| Re: Bravo 105JTD GT alarm problem First try this. If the alarm has gone into silent mode. Turn the key from mar to on three times. (Dont start the car, just till you see all the warning lights the turn off again, 2 times). The LED on the switch panel will light up. Try the alarm. Secondly, im certain most GT's came with a small alarm security key, make sure its switched on. The location for the key can be found in the drivers side fuse box. Therefore 1. when you press the keyfob, the central locking works with no alarm mean that the emergency key is at the "OFF POSITION". Pls bear in mind this. 2. When the emergency key is "OFF position" the control unit of alarm will emits a acoustic warning to indicate that the alarm has been de-activated. (OFF) 3. When the emergency key is ON, the ECU stays silent to indicate that the alarm is activated (ON). Thirdly, OPERATION Activation - De-activation The alarm is activated by pressing the transmitter key (remote control): activation is indicated by the turn signals coming on for about 2.5 seconds together with an acoustic signal (beep). The operating range is ABOUT 10 METRES. DE-ACTIVATION is carried out by pressing the remote control key again. De-activation is indicated by the turn signals flashing twice and the acoustic signal beeping twice. Note: is not possible to activate the alarm with the ignition key in MAR position, but only in STOP or PARK, or removed altogether. Activation or de-activation is indicated by a dissuasion LED. In countries where it is permitted by the legislation, optical and acoustic signals are also usd, as indicated previously for the ITALIAN version. BY-PASSING THE SYSTEM When the transmitter batteries are flat or the alarm system is faulty, the siren may be de-activated by means of an emergency key located on the control unit (OFF position). Turn the key to OFF position during-long periods of vehicle disuse (longer than two weeks). When the key is turned to ON position, if the battery is not sufficiently charged or if the control unit has been disconnected, the alarm emits an intermittent acoustic signals, 10 beeps (except for some coun- tries where this is not permitted). SURVEILLANCE During surveillance, the dissuasion led flashes at a rate of 0.8 Hz. In this status, the alarm system monitors: - doors, bonnet lid and boot lid - battery disconnection/leads cut - unauthorised activation of the ignition switch - movements inside the passenger compartment (volumetric surveillance) ALARM STATUS The system enters alarm mode when one of the surveillance sensors encounters an abnormal situation. An alarm is announced by activation of one of the sirens for up to three 26 second cycles (if the cause of the alarm persists) in addition to the turn signals for up to 4.7 minutes (in countries where legislation permits it) provided the cause of the alarm persists. Exit alarm mode by: • - pressing the transmitter key; - by means of an emergency key (The alarm on - SURVEILLANCE condition remains stored inside the control unit). NOTE Use this procedure ONLY IF it is NOT possible to exit alarm mode in any other way. PROGRAMMING COUNTRY CODE COUNTRY OF OPERATION ITALY -1 CODE (Number of key presses) GERMANY- 2 FRANCE – 3 SW1TZERLAND - 4 UNITED KINGDOM - 5 BELGIUM - 6 HOLLAND –7 EC - 8 Low siren (TURIN) - 9 It is also possible to identify the country operating mode by means of the following procedure: - open the bonnet lid; - turn the ignition key from MAR to STOP: within 15 seconds. press switch (at the front bonnet) 7 times in rapid succession in less than 10 seconds. Entry to MANUAL FAULT DIAGNOSIS will be indicated by 5 beep. During these 5 beeps, press the front bonnet switch and hold down. A further long beep will indicate acceptance of this manoeuvre. - hold the switch down for the entire duration of this long beep. The long beep indicates that the system is in Country programming mode and the Country code can now be entered; release the switch and within the next 10 seconds press the switch in accordance with the table for selecting the required country operating mode (the system will be beep to confirm each press). SYSTEM SELF-DIAGNOSIS The alarm signal is able to notify the User of any anomalies in the system by turning on the dissuasion LED in constant or flashing mode. When the system is turned on the system runs an automatic test program, during which the dissuasion LED flashes at 4 Hz. If an anomaly or fault is present in the system, the LED indicates number of pulses. Automatic test display Flashing 8 hz duration 2.5 sec-----door/bonnet/boot left open or switch faulty Flashing constant light duration 2.5 sec------volumetric sensor faulty If a door, the bonnet or boot is found open or a fault is detected in the volumetric sensor, the relevant sensor is excluded from surveillance and a beep is issued one second following activation. At the moment of de-activation, the system causes a dissuasion LED to flash to indicate which sensor triggered an alarm during surveillance. ALARM SIGNAL The flashing codes are shown in sequence. These codes are 1.5 seconds apart. Remember that during service operations on the car or in the case of alarm faults which cause the siren to go off, the siren may be by-passed by turning the key-operated switch on the control unit from ON to OFF. Note that each individual component (of the anti-theft system) installed on the vehicle becomes an integral part of the system. It may not therefore be fitted or tried on other vehicles, even if they are the same model. FLASHING MODE MEANING 8 Hz, duration 2.5 sec. Door/bonnet/boot left open or switch faulty Constant light, duration 2.5 sec. Volumetric sensors faulty N. PULSES MEANING 1 Pulse Right front door 2 Pulses Left front door 3 Pulses Right rear door 4 Pulses Left rear door 5 Pulses Volumetric sensors on courtesy light 6 Pulses Bonnet lid 7 Pulses Boot 8 Pulses Power source operated by ignition +15 9 Pulses Direct power source + 30 10 Pulses At least 3 causes of alarm Constant light Transmitter battery flat MANUAL FAULT DIAGNOSIŠ It is possible to carry out MANUAL FAULT DIAGNOSIS by opening the bonnet and turning the ignition key from MAR to STOP. Within 15 seconds, press front bonnet button 7 times in rapid succession in less than 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, the turn signals give one flash. When the device is in this mode, automatic fault diagnosis is carried out on the volumetric sensors connected to the control unit. If the test reveals no faults, the turn signals flash 3 times and the siren gives 3 beeps. After this initial stage, each time the switch status changes, the turn signals give a short flash and the siren beeps. The LED on the central console also flashes. When the ignition switch is turned to MAR, the siren gives a short beep (500 msec.) and the direction indicators flash (2.5 sec). This last operation causes the system to exit the manual test procedure. The MANUAL FAULT DIAGNOSIS procedure can also be terminated by not carrying out any operation for 30 seconds. Exit from the system is indicated by the turn signals coming on for 2.5 secs, and a beep. I hope this helps!!!

| Re: Bravo 105JTD GT alarm problem Maybe it's because each country has different laws regarding sirens and their volume and duration... Just a thought

| blessed are the apostates | Re: Bravo 105JTD GT alarm problem when you open the bonnet you can see the little pin that is pushed down by the bonnet. you can push it with your finger. if the beep stopped without you doing anything it probably means something has failed, such as the siren or power to it or wiring. | ||
