| blessed are the apostates | Re: Bravo key code light if the light stays on it means the blue key has the same code as the red key (if you copied or cloned the red key this would happen) or the blue key has an invalid code (if the key has not been coded or the code is not the correct length and format) or no blue key code can be read (if it wasnt a chipped key). also, dont keep the red key on the same keyring as the blue keys, it may confuse the code reader if it reads multiple codes, keep the keys well apart during programming. exactly how did you get the blue keys coded? where did the new blue key codes come from? | ||

| Re: Bravo key code light Thanks for your reply i bought the keys off ebay they came as fiat chipped blue keys how do i code them sorry im new to this dont fully understand i thought that as long as i bought 2 blue keys and had them cut i could then just program through the ignition.

| blessed are the apostates | Re: Bravo key code light were they brand new keys or 2nd hand ones? are they original fiat or another make? new keys will probably not be coded, although im not sure about that, depends where they came from and if they are orignal fiat keys. timpsons can read codes, get the new keys read, if they dont have codes you will need to copy the codes from any keys that have fiat codes, if you have a friend or family member with a fiat that uses the red key code system you can copy their codes easily at timpsons and get the codes put onto the new keys. if you ask nicely they will do it for free, they did it for me after i had already paid to get keys cut and it cost nothing extra. if they are 2nd hand keys they should definately work. used keys will already be coded. if you have 2nd hand keys that dont work then there must be another problem, cant think what that could be at the minute, i've never seen or heard of this not working. if its not working i guess you must have new keys without codes. as i said in the other threads each key must have a code on it, each code must be different to the other codes. a new key can have any code written to it, but im not sure if an original fiat key will be able to accept a code from a locksmiths machine, i got timpsons keys cut and coded at timpsons. i took 2 keys from a friend's cinqucento with me to steal valid codes from. it worked fine. | ||

| Re: Bravo key code light lol, i had this problem with second hand keys.it is very very weird, just have to keep turning the key to the "electrics" stage of ignition and seeing if code light would go out. getting so annoying now on verge of turning immobilisor off and using my clifford one!

| blessed are the apostates | Re: Bravo key code light i should mention, you only have 3 seconds to change keys from the point when the key code light goes out. as soon as the light goes out, get the red key out and get a blue one in and turned, 3 secs isnt very long, if you stop to admire the bugs splats on your windscreen it will be too late | ||

aside from all that, the main problem i see is that you have 2nd hand keys that wont program into the ecu, those 2nd hand keys should already be coded, if they arent they wouldnt have ever worked in a car. timpsons can read the codes off, if they are already coded then just leave the current codes on. if that is the case i dont know why the ecu wont learn their codes. did you read the message about the 3 second time limit? | |||

| Re: Bravo key code light I have the same problem. I got two blue keys cut from timpson, put code from old blue keys (got from scrapyard, one bravo, one marae), each code different, followed 3 sec rule, but still my ecu would not programme it. I tried several time but it wouldnt? Any suggestions?

| Re: Bravo key code light But then engine doesnt start with the new blue keys, means its not programmed. Isnt there any other way to programme the ecu with the codes.
