(T) Water gauge Problems ! PLS Help

I've got a Bravo GT Turbo Diesel.
I have a problem with my water gauge.
Nomaly when the engine has his operating temperature the needle of the
gauge is in the middle.
My instrument goes up to the first lower dashes and some times it is bouncing around.It goes up and down.
The Fan is operatin right, thats not the problem only the right indication of water temp.
I changed the temp. probe.No help.
Messured the wire.Wire is fine.
Fiat told me that the problem comes from the whole instrument Unit.

I think it is only a tiny thing.
May be some had the same problem a solved it.

usually a sharp (not hard, not soft!) tap on the top of the dash above where the t5emp guage is sorts mine! it lasts for a variable length of time before i have to tap it again.

I tried this allready but it did not change anything.
I don't know if there is any electronic inside of the instrument unit bevore it comes to the simple temp gauge.

Dose any one know if I can buy the gauge by it's own or do I have to buy the whole unit.
