Hi all, I have a 1999 Fiat Brava 80 16v which will not start..
What I know so far :- The thermostat has gone ( car heater not blowing out heat), The engine overheated on Friday last and cut out, bellowing out white smoke, when I got to see the car (I was not driving it when this happened) the HT leads had got stuck into the engine block, I managed to prize them out and replace and also have replaced the spark plugs, I now also have a coolant leak somewhere as soon as I fill it up and try to crank the engine it disappears, no visible leaks ( I take it it's probably internal in the engine??), also after trying to start the engine I checked the spark plugs and they have a thin black liquid covering the ends of them? Now when I try to start the engine it seems to 'chug' quicker and quicker but never starts. the lights on the dash are not showing any faults either. I'll probably be booking it in to motorzone on the dock road monday, but, any info that you lads can give me would be much appreciated, many thanks Guy.
