Me again :(

On a few occasions, when locking my fiat brava, I have encountered the two following issues, usually when one happens so does the other:

1. i lock the car, it unlocks itself in reply, repeat the process with same results

2. i try to lock the car, it feels extremely hard to lock and resists my locking attempts

I usually open and close door few times and somehow lock the car eventually when this problem occurs, though I am not sure how i manage, I sometimes press the Lock button on inside of door, which seems to help (or could be my imagination) though i thought this button is to disable electric window controls for back windows.

As i said, this has happened rarely and I always resolved somehow. I am just stumped as to why this happens.

in my reply to your other thread i asked if anything was not working. this thread answers my question nicely.

i think you'll find the clicking and whirring noise is a fault in the central locking circuit. it sounds like the unlock circuit is constantly earthing. you'll need to have a good look at the wiring and all components in the locking circuit.

if you remove the fuse for the central locking, the noise should stop, and you'll be able to lock both doors as if they did not have central locking. this will have to do until you can find and fix the fault.
