Hi folks
Im a newbie and i have found your wibesite full of usefull information so was wondering if any one can help me.
My Brava runs ok but the exhaust emissions tell another story.they are pretty high in all departments.
I have changed the lamda sensor and cat but no better i had a diagnostic ran at local garage and two codes were found
1. Injector No 4
2. Lamda sensor
This code read was done before the above parts were fitted.
The injector light doesnt come on when driving at all, so i was ruleing that one out.If ran for a few days the spark plugs foul up and are black so have to be cleaned reg.i know this isnt good for the car so any help would be great as my MOT runs out in three weeks.
cheers in advance for your help.

if the fuel injection system fault light is not illuminayed and the car runs fine, i would rule out injector problems. also if all 4 sparkplugs are fouling it confirms that all 4 injectors are working. it sounds like the injection is overfueling, however this could also be due to an ignition problem (sparkplugs not sparking correctly so fuel not burnt)

i assume you've tried fitting new sparkplugs and HT leads, and also checked that the air filter is clean. these are all simple things that can easily cause problems like this. similarly an exhaust leak can cause emissions failures so check it carefully for leaks, especially at the flexijoint. i would also suggest you leave the battery disconnected for a few hours to reset the ecu, allowing it to fine tune the fueling and ignition now that a working lambda is fitted.

if all that makes no noticable improvement post a reply and we'll try testing the injectors, coilpack, and main sensors that affect fueling and ignition.

Cheers for the replies folks will check them out and get back to yous.

I have tried a fuel cleaner though and it made no diff.

Will keep yous posted(y)
