Does anyone know where I can find images of fault indicators on a fiat brava 1.4S dash. I didnt get an owner guide with it. its a 1997 R Reg.
Car is very jumpy and I have to go down to 1st gear to go round a corner otherwise it kangaroo jumps.... a light appeared on dash, looking like a fuel hose. any idea?

Hello and welcome

This is the engine management light (often called injector light also as it looks like one, though it can show up problems with various sensors etc). Has it has a recent service, to rule out problems such as plugs and leads (though the light wouldn't usually come on for this)? A blocked or faulty injector could be an issue - could try running some engine cleaner through if you wanted.

A diagnostic test at a garage will show where the problem lies but it may cost a fair bit, from £20 upwards. Then fixing on top.

Thanks for your help, the light seems to have stopped showing now, but the jumping is still there and every time i accelerate there was a hissing sound and it began jumping then the exhaust fell off..... could a car in this condition have been able to pass an MOT yesterday?

depends where it was tested

the exhaust falling off will no doubt be due to the jerking engine, caused by misfiring. i suspect HT leads, spark plugs, or coil pack may be to blame. you could change the leads and plugs first, then if that fails try replacing the coil pack with one form a scrapyard.

Thanks to Helz and Jug. Took car back to garage and they replaced the exhaust and changed the plugs and leads and now its fine
