Technical Camshaft Sensor 105 JTD

i'm told its easy. maybe this image will help. try measuring the resistance of the sensor and comparing it to the quoted figure in this image to get an idea if its fubar'd.

Isn't that the Crankshaft sensor

I need to know about the camshaft sensor, the local garage reckons they need to remove the cambelt to replace the sensor but I haven't got all that much faith in them.

sorry i misread your original post

all i have about the camshaft sensor (often called timing sensor by fiat) is this bit of info.

Thanks Jug, to me that doesn't sound like the cambelt is going to need to be removed to replace the sensor, I'm going to have a closer look at the weekend.

i think you need to remove the rocker cover and maybe the timing belt cover to look for something that faces the exhaust camshaft pulley, i'm guessing its mounted in the head but its hard to say. the pulley is easy to find so finding the sensor cant be that hard, there's only so many places it can be to read the cam pulley.

they will need to remove cambelt and pulley to get at sensor, its trapped behind the pulley - not difficult to remove though..
