Hello ppl...

I've just purchased a fiat bravo SX80 W reg.. and need some advise...

After purchasing i did notice some minor probs with the car,

1- cigarret slot not working? not sure if its the fuse, as no actual cigarett burner was included...

2- lock on the boot is not working with normal and red key??

3- interior door handles are really ckuffed, I was wanting to replace, but don't know the price..

Could anyone give me any ideas on what to look for or prices? Would a scrap yard be any good to get say door handles or cigarett adaptor??

let me know by email

Hi Natalia and welcome to our forum:D

I'm not a smoker myself and so have never looked at the 'cigar' lighter. (Manual's description not mine). I'll have a look at it tomorrow for you.

Have you checked that your keys fit all the locks except the boot? If it is only the boot then it is either a broken lock or a new lock due to a break in attempt. Are there any scratches or signs of damage around the lock. It may be worth asking a local locksmith if he can have a look at it, and either fix or re-pin it to your keys.

A scrappy would be a good start, but, drivers side handles are usually scuffed due to people opening the door with the key in their hands. An option would be to paint the handle with plasti-kote or similar.

Let us know how you get on.:D

my guess is that the boot door was replaced at some point

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, what do you want? cupholders? open door warning light? grow up!

the door handles are only held on with 2 3mm allen bolts and take about 2 seconds to fit and are dirt cheap.

the boot lock could have seized - bravo/a's tend to do that try a bit/alot of wd40 and try working the lock with the key while spraying - seems to work - but it may seize again - regular occurance! dont be too worried about it! - mines been like that for ages - i just use the interior boot release!

If you bought it from a garage then take it back and complain! No reason you should have to pay for these things if they were a problem when you bought the car!

Guys, the car was from a private seller, so no comeback.. Its not a major problem, i just didn't know whether it was broken or a complete different lock....

I will try the spray stuff.. well get me dad to do it...

& the cigarett ligher problem... im not a smoker, its just that I tried to plug one of those handsfree kits into car, and it doesn't seem to work, so was not sure if it was a fuse, or the thing is broken?? I might have to go to a scappy and get a replacement, as need this as need for work...

Im gonna go to a scrappy this weekend so will let you know what I come up with...

Oh and also... I got a fascia for replacing my built in stereo... its not to hard to replace...?? can you use knifes??

Cheers..

Natalia

Sorry nat, it was a nice try anyway. I've found the boot lid does tend to stick a bit, trust me if the spray doesn't work don't get fiat to fix it, they're busy trying to con £40 out of me for that and I'm not paying!

I find my gears are clunkier just after it's been serviced, given a few months they seem to sort themselves out again and it stops crashing in first gear. Why this is I dunno.
