howdy!

hey there, i just bought i brava!
used to be a frequant visitor of the uno section as i used to have a 5dr Fire version.
then i was stupid enough to buy a pug 306.

i own a 2001 fiat brava in "savvy blue" which is actually more like silver. its got 30,000 miles on the clock with e/w e/s/r.
its a 1.6i 16v engine and the car is immacculate.
i paid £2200 for it,
is that a good price? it was £3,300.

pics coming soon!

Re: howdy!

get the pics up

i'd say thats not too bad a price

I paid £900 for 1.4sx bravo with 65000 on the clock, no working rear wiper, blowers are tempremental, it spits at me when its been raining and a few scratches on the side, oh yeah and it sounds like a tractor

full tax and test tho

Don't think my car likes me come to think about it

Wanna swap?

Re: howdy!

that must be a common fault on bravas as my rear wiper doesnt work either! but thats the only fault
the engine is also immacculate and it came with 12months MOT, 2 months tax, fully serviced and 12months warranty!!

i only have one photo that was taken with a camera phone so quality isnt amazing!

*note we are a family of fiats with a punto and stilo multiwagon too!

Re: howdy!

welcome to the brava/o section

hate to say it but £2200 is a lot of money for a brava, if you shopped about you would have got a very similar one for £1200-1500 private sale, maybe £1500-1800 at a garage. i can only assume you bought it from a fiat dealership? if they were advertising it for £3300 they must be constantly injecting in the toilets!

as an example here's one in the autotrader:

2001 FIAT BRAVA 1.6 SX 5dr Hatchback £1,500
Full Description: 68,000 miles, Light Metallic Silver/Blue. 12 months MOT, 7 Months Tax, Central locking, Electric sunroof, Front electric windows, Height adjustable drivers seat, New front tyres and shock asorbers, New timing belt. Very good, reliable car. £1,500
Private Seller:
Contact number: 07891 886448 or 0161 2263220

twice as many miles as yours but its the same model, age and colour and its £700 cheaper.

anyway not to worry, its yours now and its one of the newest low milage brava's on earth so you'll probably have little trouble with it.

the rear wiper motor is easily replaced with one from a scrapyard (£5-10).

even though the milage is low i suggest you change the timing belt as its 5 years old now, and its actually worse for the belt having such low milage as the belt gets kinked by standing still for so long.

Re: howdy!

well from that advert mine was a pretty good price! it has less than half the mileage and is probably in better condition. also mine has a 12month warranty.

argh no not the timing belt...had to change this on the uno. annoying job.

also need new wheel trims. mine just suck.

Re: howdy!

it is very low milage, almost a new car. probably the lowest milage on any 2001 brava
