I Have A 97 Bravo 1.4sx That Keep Over Heating. Its Been In The Garage For A New Thermostat And Still Over Heating. I Took It Back To Garage A He Bled The Radiator Which Seemed To Work For A Week Or So And Now The Problem Persists.just Seems Like The Fan Does Not Kick In But Does When At Garage.no Fuses Have Blown And Radiator No Air Locks,
Any Ideas Please ????

has the coolant level been dropping? bleeding the radiator will not remove trapped air in the system, you should try using the bleed screws on the hose's connected to the heater matrix, they are higher up so they must be used to relese any trapped air. if you bleed it and then after a few days it needs bleeding again it would suggest you have head gasket failure or a leak. check for any signs of leaking at all hose connections. also check the engine oil does not appear to have any coolant mixed with it (white slime on oil filler cap) and that the coolant does not have any oil mixed with it (oily smell in radiator/expansion tank, or oil on top of coolant.)

Got exactly the same problem with my bravo 1.2. Pulling my hair out over it, Heater is working fine rad fan dont kick in when gets hot but working fine when i connect it straight to the battery to test it. No water in oil or oil in water also no loss of performance. can anyone tell me where the thermosatic switch is been told they go now and again ?
