Bravo HGT

I have a Fiat HGT (1998 105k miles). I bought it for £1k with lowered suspension, sports exhaust etc. I then spent £450.00 on service, front wishbones etc etc. It passed its MOT straight through three months ago. It now needs a new ex. manifold and downpipe (I have the parts, but as yet unfitted) but worst of all the brake lines are corroded into the compensator and it needs replacing.

I am thinking of geting rid of the car, I love it to drive, it sounds fantastic and goes really well. What do you reckon I should do.

Re: Bravo HGT

Garage reckons it's gonna cost £300 inc labour for brakes and another 100 to fit manifold and downpipe.

Re: Bravo HGT

can you not do the exhaust yourself? its a bit of a biatch to do tbh, but it will save you a ton overall.

personally id do it all myself, but thats me, if you can do something yourself you will and then if your not confident get the breaks sorted by a garage. call around a few and see what the price comes too, and also look at getting the parts yourself if you can, see if you can save a bit more?

Re: Bravo HGT

they don't seem like bad repair costs at all, especially considering it only cost £1000 to buy, and it's a fairly old hot hatch with a 5 cylinder engine etc.

Re: Bravo HGT

exhaust manifold is very difficult to do on the 20v, trust me!

i say get her repaired and keep her, you know how much fun the 20v engine is!
