hello all i was dropping my girlfriend off home before and i heared this winning nosie comeing from behind the from right wheel so i stoped and looked behind the wheel an there was water coming out as if it was sprayin an it was also dripping out of the front the grill were you open the bonnet? what can it be? i have just had the radiator core replaced new thermastat an a new head gasket im hopeing its just a pipe? can i be to do with the weather change or n e thing like that?

i h8 this car

stop driving the car, if you do drive it make sure the water is topped up and you only do short journeys and keep an eye on the temp gauge. if it gets too hot you may need another head gasket, or even a head. you have a leak, and yes the recent work would explain it, most likely a damaged pipe, get the car back to where the work was done asap. they should sort it for free.

although it is possible that they overfilled the expansion tank when the work was done so the excess is getting dumped when pressure builds up with heat, or they didnt tighten the filler cap properly (or the cap is damaged), but its more likely to be a leak.

your always right jug my friend

it was a pipe leading into the engine i think it was caused my wear an tear were the jubile clip was the pipe snaped off my dad cut the end of the pipe with it was worn away an put back all fine now didnt cost me n e thing thank god! cheers tho m8

it very often happens when a pipe is removed and then refitted (such as after a head gasket repair) because the rubber loses its elasticity over time, so when you retighten the jubilee clip it doesn't create as good a seal as it did before removal. i tend to move the jubilee clip along the pipe a few mm if possible to where the rubber isnt as worn, or chop an inch off the end of the pipe if possible, i've even used water tape and elastic bands to get a watertight seal. at least you spotted the problem and fixed it before any worse damage was caused.

spoke to soon,

drove into town an relise all the power wasnt there?? so i thought that i might need to put more water into the radiator cause the last lot i put in might need to cycle though the engine, so left it for an hour an filled it with water, drove better an as i was pulling up out side my house i could hear the radiator bubbling an i turned the engin off an the radiator was leaking fast! i dont understand? i just payed for a new core?

im selling it after it has been repaired! any 1 intrested :slayer:

dont blame the car, its due to badly fitted parts or defects in the parts, its not the car's fault. get back to where ever the work was done and tell them its still not right, they'll get sick of you coming back eventually and actually fix the car.

to be honest i think that the tempature gage dosnt work?
when i had the new head gasket put on the tem gauge went up half way then droped down fast an hasnt risen since? yet agian i have fitted a new thermastat aswell?

wish there were a decent mechanic around here like yourself jug my car would work fine!

dont confuse a thermostat with the coolant temp sensor, they are 2 different things. replacing the temp sensor is even easier and cheaper than the thermostat, however it sounds like a loose or corroded wire in your case.

and there are people far wiser and more expereinced than me in every town in britain, its just that most of them are lazy and full of shat. finding somewhere you can trust and building up a relationship is the key to cheap and reliable repairs

ok so i thought that the radiator was leaking after i just bought a new 1 so he tested it an even showed me and there is nothink wrong with it, i have cheaked the hoses an they are on tight, but water is coming out of it somewere? i cant find it? and the fan is not going on? oh an i found a lose replaced the wire an the temp gage works now an its going up nearly all the way? were could the water leak be?:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Right wheel as in driver's side right? My washer tank empties itself whenever it feels like it in this heat. But of course that's on the left side.

if you cant see water leaking from anywhere, but you lose water, and the temperature gets so high that the radiator is bubbling, i'd say it can only be a head gasket failure.
