Just wondering on the specifications of the vehicle other than those listed. Do these have rear head restriants and immoboliser etc, 6 speaker system, rev counter?

its a 1.4, get a 1.2

The 1372 12v is the worst engine that Fiat ever had thought of. Just walk away from it.

go for the 1.2 pal. its slightly quicker, according to people on here and on Fiatboo alot better on fuel consumption.

a 1.2 would cost a bit more but by the sounds of it on here you would be alot happier with a 1.2.





oh and another bonus the 1.2 is in a lower category than the 1.4 so your getting a quicker car insured for less. so that has to be good.

It's slow for its size, uneconomical and there are problems with the oil feed which can lead to seizing. There's thread after thread about it in this section

its crap and WILL eventually die!!! Mine is nearly dead . . . and has cost me hundreds to keep going!!

Everyone says they are bad. To a point they are but they need servicing about every 6,000 miles and when I service myn i take off the Rocker cover take off the oil feed pipe and blow it out with compressed air because they are b******s for getting blocked up. Service it often it will last a good while more, and my fuel comsumption averages between 30-32 per gallon. After looking on here that is really good and i'm not exactly a sunday driver.

I have no reliability problems with my 145.000km 1,4.
But, it does indeed drink too much fuel.

1.4 ecomony is far worse than the 1.6. at worse i will get 35mpg, at best i will get 44mpg. On average i will get 42mpg and i dont exactly drive economically

Agreed, my 1.2 did 45-50mpg standard (60 on a good day) and 40-45 now.

fuel economy? try having a 1.8! i measure my economy in gallons per mile

Ah but yours goes faster than the 1.4 to make up for it

Just pity the poor sod with a 2.0 20v.. especially come cambelt change
