Does anyone know how to get wiring from the car into the door panels ???

I need to get some wiring through for electric mirrors, and have the switch etc, but the wiring only goes to the car side of the connector in the door, from the door side, to the mirrors, there are no wires.

Anyone know what type of connections are in the snakey thing and how I can add new ones ????

it is a solid connector block, the car side of the connector will have the wiring for the elec mirrors as part of the standard loom, the easiest way to connect your mirrors will be using the original connector by pushing the required pins into the door side of the connector, then it will be exactly as fiat intended. you should remove the door wiring complete with the pins on so that you can push the pins back into your connector. remember to take a note of which slot each pin will go in.

oh nearly forgot, you should remove the switch to control the mirrors from the donor car along with the plastic surround it sits on, you can then replace that with yours on the center console, iirc the connector for the switch will be sat inside the centre console waiting to be plugged into the switch.

Does anyone know what type of pins are inside this connector ????

Can I buy them from an auto shop or is it a fiat only type thing ???

you need to pull the pins from the connector on a car with elec mirrors, use the car you got the mirrors from if possible, and remember which slot you pull the pins from so you know where to put them on the connector in your door. getting your hand in isnt easy but finding the correct wire is, its the only ones going up to the mirror. you can pull them out with your hands or use pliers if they seem tight.

when you pull a pin out it will bend a small metal clip round that is used to lock each pin in the connector, before you put the pin into your connector you need to bend that clip back so it will lock the pin into your connector. if you dont it can come out, and it will, which is a hassle so avoid that and bend the clip back. if the clip snaps off you should glue the pin into the connector.

a picture paints a thousand words so heres what a good clip and damaged clip will look like

Thanks a lot for this.

Unfortunately, I bought the mirrors off ebay so there is no doner car to get the pins from.

Any idea if I can by them from an auto shop ?

i dont think i've ever seen anything in a shop that would do the job. they're like anorexic bullet connectors. you could pull a couple of pins from a bravo without elec mirrors, the pins on the central locking are the same, but i cant remember which slots the pins need to go into on the door connector and there's a few spare ones to guess at so you'd have to wire the switch up first then get a multimeter on the car side connector pins to find the elec mirror wires, then make sure your new pins go into the correct slots on the connector at the door side. not that hard, just a bit fiddly.
