The connector for the headlight motor is hanging, you know the one that makes the reflectors go up and down...
I have this on my car on the right headlight, the previous owner changed the headlight and put in a new one that does not have a motor, therefore, no place for the conector to go in... now only one of my reflectors moves up and down by activating the switch on the dash.
Can I add a motor to it or do I have to change the whole headlight?

you remove the part that is manually adjustable and swap it with a motor, they fit in the same hole but you need to connect the motor to the adjustment mechanism in the light, its usually a ball joint that slots in from one side. on that point dont try to pull the old manual adjuster off it turns to release and then slides off the ball joint. its probably an easier job with the headlight removed so you can see what you're doing.

i'd just remove the motor from a headlight in a scrap yard, most models will have them, its such a small part that its only going to cost a couple of quid, £5 max if you go wearing a suit and driving a bmw. although its unlikely that you'll get a broken one its always worth checking to see if the motor works before you get home. sometimes petrol costs more than parts if you dont check and have to go back.

Hey Jug I just went and bought the motor, it cost about 15euros from a used parts shop.
I'll fit it when i get the time and post back.

Yesterday I removed the headlight and removed the mecanical adjustment part as Jug said and installed the motor....
Worked like a charm... Now all I have to do is adjust both beams to be on the same level...
I'll park the car at night facing a wall and put the beams on and using the screws on the motors to adjust the level....
Cheers...
