can anyone please help me and tell me the size of the fiat brazo 1.4 door speakers as i want to change them. also can u please tell me on a 50x4 head unit whats the highest watt door and rear speakers i could get thanks

The front speakers are 5X7, but its recommended you get 13cm...but further recommended you get 16cm ones upfront (though you'll need a 16cm speaker adaptor to make it fit).
If you're thinking of hooking up the speakers to your headunit...id advise against it and would recommend getting a seperate amp for them, as this sounds much better, because you'll get only around 15-20w RMS(figures not set in stone, but i think this is prob maximum - HU sucks) from your headunit.
Hope this helps.

i have a friend who has a corsa ski and he has 165w goin into his headunit and it sounds ok and his head unit is like mine just older why is that?

Thats nonsense. It you work from peak RMS figures all the time and your 50x4 headunit only actually gives out 4x10W RMS anyway, find speakers to Match it. Putting 165W RMS speakers in will sound pap. Find ones with low RMS to match the Headunit. Actually the Alpine Headunits sound awesome on stock Nokia speakers.

My Kenwood is rated at 4x44w connected to 180w (peak, 40w individual speaker) 6x9's in the rear with the stock at the front.

It sounds perfectly fine, had the same speakers and head unit in my old Rover 200, the speakers used to make the boot plate vibrate!

Hi guys. Have same car. So if i want to put 13cm in front, i don't need any adapters to fit it?

Now i have 5.25 in the back. Want to put them to front, but dont know if they will fit. :bang:

Just to bud in with a different quick question, anybody know what type of plug is used to hook up the standard rear speakers? The wires have been cut off to put in speakers on the parcel shelve, but I want to hook em back up to the normal ones.

Speaker adaptor i a good thing, thanks) Anyway, how much RMS have original Fiat Bravo front door speakers? 25? If its so, than i will just leave original one :D

This is the Brava / Bravo setup:

Standard system - 4 x 15W
Front:
2 x tweeters (dash, 1" or 1.5", 40W)
2 x elliptic (oval) mid-woofers, (door, 130mm x 180mm / 5" x 7" 30W)

Rear:
2 x full range (parcel shelf, 130mm / 5.25", 30W)

So the door speakers work with the tweeters to give the full range, and the rear speakers on their own give the full range. The front door and rear speakers are different sizes and work slightly differently.

To Gregovic: the standard connectors are a square yellow item with 2 sockets for the blades on the rear speakers, most ICE or car spares shops should have them if you take your speakers with you to check.

Huh, and i think door speakers are 2-way? I have X Zound 13cm "5.25", but i think they are 25w RMS, but 3 way. Anyway if the door speakers are 2-way and i will put tweeters, it will sound much better than whit this X zounds.. So, door speakers are 2 way, right?

For the price of the kit your not too far or a new pair of 5x7's??

Or am I missing something like an oddball mount like on the Brava rear's that leave a big gap round the speaker edge for the bass to diffract round and cancel out?

I’ve cut down the Nokia chassis as a mount adapter for another set of 5.25s. well I’m half way there.

I'm doing the same thing with the door and rear speakers - cutting up the old ones and using the plastic frame as a mount for new speakers.

For the door speakers I think you're right... cut away the central gubbins and the plastic bars that support it all. Then I'm fairly sure standard 5"x7" components or 2-ways will fit the mounting holes (you may need to cut bits of the extended plastic "lip" to allow them to fit nicely).

To fit 5.25" (13cm) round speakers you'll probably have to fill the central hole with some hardboard and make a circular cutout for the new speaker.

I'm doing something slightly different - mounting smaller but better speakers that I already had. So in the doors are going some Fenner 6"x4" 2-ways and in the rear are going some Fenner 4" round 2-ways. Like I said, I'm filling the old frame with hardboard sections and mounting to that.

Ideally you would put component speakers (5"x7" or 5.25" round) in the front door / dash and 5.25" coaxials in the rear.
