Just read on either ebay or autotrader of a bravo with a 220hp turbo coupe motor in it. is that a bolt in job or a cut and weld the chassis job??

is there any other larger motors within easy reach of the Bravo??

Did Fiat give the Bravo Leather seats???

Many thanks

Cool so i am to buy the 5cyl. car in the first place and then lower the c.r to match the coupe and get the manifolds, snail and management from the coupe right?

I dont understand why the 2.0L 20v Bravo motor only makes 154hp.
Have they got really bad management or a bad head design or what?

atm i'm under the impression theres a lot of potential to be had from these 5 pots. hope i'm right.

I'd like to know if i could get the car down to under a ton answell did they make a non-pas rack on the base models??

Thanks:slayer:

theres a whole lot of hassle making the 20v n/a lump into a 20v turbo, and its pricey aswell. the easiest way to do it is to get a bravo, pref 20v cos as custard said, the wings are wider etc to give that lil bit of extra space then swap over the engine complete from a coupe tubby, ecu the whole shebang, otherwise you will have alot of trouble / time / effort and money invested in something thast alot more unreliable etc......

as for leather, the only bravos that came with it are the hgt, and even then it was an optional extra, and none too common.

and the 154 bhp in the late 20v (147 early) is as it is due to emissions etc, in essence it has been detuned. you can cam and chip with a few other lil bits the 20v n/a and see between 180 - 200 bhp :yum:

let me help you out, the coupe bravo brava 155 tempra 145 146 delta hpe are all based on the same car the tipo. The engine bays are all the same size, a 1.4 bravo had the same amount of space in it as a 20vt coupe. the wish bones are not all the same length but the the subframes are.

You can fit any engine from any other tipo based car into any other one, ideally you need a whole donor car. Some things are a bit tight due to layout issues - eg the over hang on the front wheels of the coupe is longer as the bumpers are generally deeper. Intercoolers and oil coolers are al the same in the diesels and petrol cars, they also bolt under the 2 front engine mounts onto the chassis legs. Engine looms are seperate from the car loom, that is the sensors for the ecu are not bound together with the wires for the head lamps. Any engine swap need all the bit like loom, ecu, fuel pump, any different fuel lines, engine mounts - and often hubs are different so having a donor car with alright suspension can save you time here. its never a quick job.

Just seen your tipo turbo thread chap, I'm very impressed.

I plan on doing the 16v Conversion into my 1.2 Bravo at the tail end of this year/start of next as I think I can live without the 20v burble and the 20hp more ;)

Plus I need to use it daily so hopefully it will be a bit more reliable.

Any advice for me chap?

Cheers chap.

some of the brazilian lads came over into the marea section, the coupe turbo engine just has these hardended pistons (cant remember name), anywho other than that its ment to be the same, the best source is www.clubedomarea.com.br they really know their stuff.

i'd have to agree its probably better to lump the coupe engine right in, if you already have the 2.0 20v its a straight swap, just add intercooler etc.

and yes, the 5 pot 2.0 20v is very overlooked, sumplug was telling me it has huge potential, i will look into this more before going turbo on my marea ;)

Cheers,
