just bought my bravo 1.2 y reg 2 weeks ago running smooth then power just goes and load knocking sound from engine .. been garage 2 day they said 2 injecters aint working ! maybe something wrong with ecu he said £325 for part alone from fiat //// does anyone know enything about these ecu.. cheers

Hello and welcome, congratulations on your purchase The ECU is the car's 'brain' as it were, it tells the engine how to run based on informarion from sensors. If there's something wrong with it, the garage will use information from the ECU to find out what is wrong with it.

First question, was it a private sale or did you buy the car from a garage? If it was the latter, take it back to them and complain. If it was a private sale so you're doing the work yourself, shop around for parts and quotes. A local independent may charge less than a Fiat garage, though ensure it is somewhere with diagnostic equipment so they know which bit is playing up. You could also be sneaky and ask your local motor factors how much the parts required would cost. Labour rates can also vary greatly.

hiya thanks for the reply but ive just been told bad news its been into a garage where they have the diagnostics and they said the bottom end of the engine has gone.... dont really understand why no signs of this although i dont know if this can be covered up by the guy that sold it i bought it from a private seller on auto trader but he advertised has trade he said he works from home. anyway spoke to the seller and he basicly said it was running fine when u bought it...dont know what 2 do any ideas . cheers

might be worth having a word with the citizens advice beaureau (sp ) as they should be able to advise where you stand. seeing as he stated that he was trade you should have more come back. did you get any warranty?

with trade you should automatically get a minimum of three months warrenty. this is why people buy cars from traders.
