Hello, I have original ELM327 bluetooth and ELM327 USB interfaces. I am trying to diagnose Fiat Bravo 1.6 from 1997 with Magneti Marelli IAW 1AF ECU.I connected the ELM327 interface with brand new 3pin to OBDII adapter to the car. I was trying to diagnose it with multiple softwares like Multiecuscan,they connect to the interface but all of them give me the same or similar error after that:Unable to connect to ECU but sometimes if I select the particular protocol error is "Bus_init_failed".
After a lot of searching I found out that this ECU model only supports KKL VagCOM and OBDKey 1.40 interfaces. Is it somehow possible to "emulate" those interfaces via ELM327? Also I didn't say that I tried many Android apps and they also give me similar error,but one particular(OliviaDrive) did connect after I randomly selected a protocol but after connection it said "0 0 1 NO DATA".Also my friend that works with cars has Delphi diagnostics equipment(the VCI isn't original tho) and it is working on every single car ,even those from 1992,and for mine it says that it was unable to communicate with the car.Thanks for your answer in advance.

why don't you just get a KKL cable, and try..
as it's less expensive than the ELM in most markets,

I appreciate they may not be freely available in your country..

When I told the guy who is working with cars about KKL,he was like "What is that?",also buying KKL which costs almost 100 euros requires buying another 3 pin adapter for it which doesn't actually exist here...

does your 3-pin have the same 16 pin OBD2 on the opposite end..??
I've not used one..

you also need the coloured ADAPTOR cables. for ABS / airbag / PAS etc.

I just need to diagnose the engine,also the DS 150(New VCI) about which I talked earlier that my friend has also supports KKL(some cars on the diagnostics history even where from VAG/KKL group like Golf 3 from 1992),but still it doesn't connect to the car.
