You're only in France. Paris is six hours drive from my place in Norfolk.

They're on eBay for 50 at the moment (have a look in the auction thread section) I'm having a Spring clear out.

The track day is the 18th and I get paid on the 15th so I'm hoping my local rubber bandits have some Toyo's in stock.

Re: Broom Yellow HLX

i know it's not far really, but it's not cheap either.
I'm 3 hours south of paris, so according to google, it's 9 hours drive each way, 1600km 90 litres of fuel, 50 in toll roads, 50 for a hotel, and 90 for the ferry, just to pick up some wheels at 50? i could just buy some here and save myself the bother. They would look bloody lovely on my wagon though.....

526 miles for 50? Blimey, I should have got a Bravo! My Tipo 1.4 gets nowhere near that...and I've been trying not to over rev!

Re: Broom Yellow HLX

No, and it's not going anywhere near it.

To be fair, fuel economy seems OK ish. Nowhere near as good as yours, but I'm still trying to work out the vagaries of the digital dash - the first four bars of the fuel display disappear in 50 miles, but then it really slows down. Weird, but I'm good with weird.

I've probably spent more than 70 on my first 500 miles. People seem to think it'll level out - hasn't been driven much recently.

Well impressed with yours LQ!

Re: Broom Yellow HLX

Just gave the car a good service, made sure the tyre pressures are okay and it was mostly 50-60mph roads so barely ticking over.

...and it's off now I've filled the tank.

Low fuel pressure due to running nearly empty? I'd better get the filter changed before I hit the track.

Last night while I was fitting new brakes when I discovered a Russian opera level of tragedy. I thought I had run over cake.

Turns out it was Malt Loaf.

Anything described as a "loaf" is a kind of bread so it's okay.

New brakes, wheels and tyres fitted ready for tomorrows track day for Olivia...

https://www.youcaring.com/olivia-may...WThM9.facebook

...but a direct debit went wrong I set it up last month for 50 and they took out 500 by mistake.

They'll refund the difference but it will take 48 hours. Great as I need the money in the morning!

The initial halo period of ownership you probably won't get good performance until you acclimatize yourself to the characteristics of the car.

When I first got my Panda Fizz I couldn't get as good MPG as my Fantasia but it didn't take long to iron out the quirks and get us to the old girl.

Re: Broom Yellow HLX

I suppose that today is the track day? Hope it goes well. Is it at Blyton? My mate does some Superbike instructing there, he's just upgraded from an R6 Yam to an ex Ron Haslam school Fireblade.

I must say you're the complete opposite to me... if I was doing the trackday I would have left the brakes and tyres alone, and just ragged the sh!t out of them on the track just to get full value from them and see what the standard car was like with extreme driving. Then I would have upgraded and done a comparison next time around...

What bits did you buy?

Is that photo of the standard wheel with a Pirelli P6000?

Such an anorak sometimes....

Right tyre but a Barchetta wheel. Needed 10mm spacers and longer bolts to fit.

I didn't make it to Blyton due to the mix up. Probably just as well because I've just checked online and the MOT expired on February 23rd.

Re: Broom Yellow HLX

Oh well you shouldn't fail on brakes or tyres anyway.

Interesting choice the Barchetta wheels, presumably you just wanted an alternative set to swap on and off? Can't see they'd actually be an improvement over the stock wheels or are they lighter or something? I can't say I'd choose to do a trackday using spacers and extended bolts!

Looking forward to some photos when everything's sorted!

Re: Broom Yellow HLX

They were the ones that were for sale for a price I could afford.

They look a bit like the Penis spoke ones Jeremy Clarkson had on the Vauxhall Frontera without the balls. The original wheels paint is peeling off so I was going to strip them properly and paint them black (black wheels on a yellow car never fails).

I didn't know they wouldn't fit as the Barchetta is part of the modular platform Fiats.

I may re-sell them to fund the repairs.

I've ordered a new outer CV kit for the passenger side...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1707516165...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

...bargain 18 and the same as the HGT and Punto GT if anyone needs a pair I'll let you know if they're any good.
