Could be plain and simple the bulb gone if it never lights up. If it does light up on self test at start up then it could be the electrical contacts to the handbrake switch located just below the handbrake lever

Rear wiper is prone to seizing up due to lack of use and rain water trickling down the wiper arm spindle. I just freed up mine by squirting some WD40 just around where the wiper spindle descends into the hatch then squirting a small amount of oil around the same area. Give it time to sink in and then a gentle helping hand with it switched on to get it moving again and there you go, at least for a while. If all else fails try taking the wiper motor apart, clean off the rust from the spindle, grease it all up, refit and you're away

thank u very much full of knoweg!! it it easy going about the hand break wireing because the light was flicking at one point when i semi put the leaver up so it must b wireing thanks!

The rear wiper is hardly worn compared to the front wiper motor and the rear wiper is permanently on intermittent too so it hardly gets worked at all and suffers more from a lack of use. It's a case of use it or lose it. Mine's done 100k miles of everyday motoring and is still working
