Hi

The car is a 2001 1.2 61v Bravo. The airbag warning light is constantly on. I think I may have caused this, but seek opinions and advice from you knowledgeable chaps out their in Fiatland.

I took the instrument cluster out to change a couple of the bulbs behind the dials. Battery was fully disconnetced etc etc before steering wheel & airbag removal.

However, and from what I have read on this forum so far, this next step could have been my downfall, I hooked up the instrument cluster only and reconnected the battery to check that the bulb changes had been successful before I reassembled the rest of the dash/steeringwheel/airbag.

Am I correct that the car has logged a fault given that the battery was connected but the airbag was not, and that fault code will not automatically clear now that all parts are screwed back in place?

Thanks in advance for all advice & commebts. :worship:

Yes, on these cars the light will not reset itself like with stilo.

OK, thanks.

So, to clarify ...

Connecting the battery with the airbag removed from the car has caused the fault to be logged? .... and I now need a Fiat dealer or some other electronic gizmo to clear the "fault" and put the light out?

Ok, thanks.

I don't have OBDII or any other diagnostic software (or connection leads) for this car, so I guess it will have to be a dealer.

Unless ....... anyone in the Leicester / Coventry (or even milton keynes) area has a unit I could come round & use for a quick reset ........ ?

here's hoping :D

hi,there are a few on here with MES , but most of us don't have the 3-pin adaptor..never needed to play with anything that OLD..,

maybe post in TECH section - asking for a 3-pin assistance/ or on loan,
Cinquecento section may be another good place to look ( old tech,..)
