Hello all

Thought I would impart a slightly alarming recent experience, in finding out that FIAT no longer seem to stock official rear exhaust sections for post-1998 (155) Bravo HGTs.

Now, I'm not saying I would have bought one at FIAT prices - and maybe this is the issue - but my dealer says they are no longer available. I gather there are only about 80 155's on the road in the UK now, so maybe this is all to be expected - but for a car that is still only 14 years old, still a bit worrying.

As it happens, I took a chance on an aftermarket standard-pattern exhaust for an earlier (147) HGT, bought over the internet (how did we run old cars before it?) and it fitted fine. And wasn't very expensive. And seems to perform well. I don't really go for the big boomy Max Power type exhausts one can get so wanted to keep it reasonably standard.

All of which is fine on one level - but can't help feeling a bit worried that FIAT are no longing stocking fairly routine bits for late-model HGTs.... has anyone else run into this?

"X" plate 155 HGT, Steel grey, no options, completely standard...

Genuine HGT parts been tricky to get hold of for a while now. Luckily there are quite a few pattern parts suppliers out there and I've not had any issue with quality.

Even going back a good few years now, maybe 2007/2008, some parts for the HGT model were discontinued. I recall the manifold downpipe being impossible to get hold of even back then. Fiat just didnt make them any more.

Sadly it's not a car with a big enough following for a big pattern part market but hopefully it will continue for some time yet :)

Post a pic of yours puntodeltathema .. mines also an X plate 155 HGT, steel grey, completely standard. Not many left! Are you making it to Stanford Hall this Sunday?

Life is getting hard for Any Bravo/a and Marea owner, parts have become rare and hard to come by - so we have to go either pattern part or Custom.
Fiat no longer stock most bits that the Bravo/a and Marea usually need.
I got told to upgrade to a newer model when I went into Thames motorgroup to get a price for 2 new lower arms and a new key lool

Thanks guys. (Hope Stanford Hall was good by the way - it's been a few years since I've been to an Auto Italia gig, must get back soon).

I guess for the five cylinder cars, we Bravo/Marea people have strength in numbers with Coupe, Stilo and Kappa owners.

[Looking back from where we are now with small turbo twins and fours, it feels like a bit of a dream when Fiat made stonking great five pots, doesn't it? I always wished they had made a 5-cylinder Brava; I always thought that great Basso fastback body style needed a motor with a bit of substance....]

Anyway, here's to good quality parts availability for as long as possible...

Nick
