Technical Solid discs to Vented discs

1.6 and bigger Weekend had vented disks at front (and 1.6 auto saloon, manual shared same as bravo/brava?). Bravo and brava have vented disks up from 1.8.

Diameter for the disc is same but vented is 8mm thicker.
If it fits inside the carrier and pads fit, I see why not? I just dont see a need for vented discs on a 1.2 unless you plan on upgrading the calipers. Front brakes for the 1.6 are same as on 1.2

The rear brakes dont need much on light and short bravo so I would not upset the balance.

Hi guys

My new Bravo 16v has solid Front discs, but my Marea 16v had vented:bang:, is it possible just to do a straight swap, the calipers look the same.

Same thing with the rear, the Marea has huge Drums at the rear and Bravo has microscopic drums.

Easy swap
Get the calipers, carriers, pads and discs
From Fiat TD100, 1.6 auto, weekend, 1.8
All bolt straight on
Pads are different, FDB 1040 vs FDB 1056

Avoid using drums at the back, change to discs

Here's a guide I wrote up yonks ago :)

Hello I'm thinking of upgrading my front discs from solid to vented as well. I have a 1.6 Brava manual. I can get the calipers/hub carriers from a Brava 1.8 manual.

Question is, there are several sets of genuine pads available at the moment, being:

1) Part number 77362186 (being listed as 1.8 manual).

2) Part number 77362316 (being listed as 1.8 automatic).

Would the second one also fit the 1.8 manual calipers? Are the calipers the same for the 257mm vented discs or is this Fiat just being difficult with part numbers?

Thanks for any help.
